Part 10.
Mahesa Bahadur..made a few calls. to his friends....regarding Sanjay......hoping to put and end to his bad ways towards his grand daughter,,,,kalpana.......
one  of  his  friends     gave  his   word  to Mahesa  that  he  would  check   Sanjay  out   ..but  fate   had  its  own  agenda    .
kalpana was  so precious  to  Mahesa Bahadur   and  he  would  go  to any length to  protect  his  grandaughter  ,
later  in  the  afternoon   after  seeking  her  grandparents  permission   kalpana   set out   to  do  some  sight seeing,,,,,something  she  loved to  do....she  had  already  made  many  friends  who  were  close  to  her  grandprents....she  had  nothing  to  fear..she  set  out  happily  with  them..free  of  Sanjay   ....he  would  not  bother  her  in  any  way...her   grandfather  would  take  care  of  everything.....Kalpana   bought     shawls   for  her  mother  ,,bought  a  nice   sun  hat  for  her  father  and  for  her  brother   she  bought   nice   Batik  print   shirt....he  would   love   that  ...she  enjoyed   vanila  ice cream    ...had  soto  ayam.and  finger  licking  fries.....her  new  found  happines  up  to  the  brim......she  went  back  home  happily  and  slept  like  a baby    after  a  warm  shower...waking  up   to  her  granmother.s   cooking   aroma.......she  ate    wth    relish.....food  prepared  by  her  grandmother. who   stayed  with  her   that  night  keeping  her company till  she  fell asleep.and  in  the  morning,,  shocking  news  awaited  her...her  father  had  had  a massive  heart attack....and   needed  surgery  immediately.
kalpana  broke   into  tears....surgery  means  lots  of  money,,....how  was  she  going  to  cope  with  this  new  burden
''listen  to  me  child.....please  stop  crying  ,, i  have  booked  flight  back  home.......my  step  brother  will meet  you  at  the  airport he  mentioned  that  he  will try  to  help  you........with  money  for  your  father.s  surgery....you  know    i was  very  rich  once   child.......it  is  not  the  same  now...the  ancestral  house  is  the only  property  i  have   ,,,i   feel  so  bad   in  this  situation  now,,,,,,,but  god  is  great  ,,he  will  find  a way,,,,,,...
kalpana    packed  her  bags   as   fast  as  she  could   ..her  grandparents  were  waiting  for  her   and   shortly   drove  her  to
Jakarta International  Airport,  kalpana   boarded  the  flight  to  India   her  ..the  7  hours   flight  to  India   was  going  to  be  long....thought  kalpana.....and   within   one  hour  of  take off .the flight with   120  passegers  to  India  had  to  make  and  emergency  landing  at  the  Soekarna -Hatta   Internationa airport.due  to technical  problems  at  the  engines  and  left  wing.....the   passegers  held  their  breath..some  even  praying.....and  all  were  relieved  ...after  the  safe  landing  
every passeenger   was  taken  care  of.....it  was  going  to  be  more  delayed   ...
while  waiting  at  the  airport lounge.....kalpana   cried,,why  was  fate  so  cruel  to  her....a  comforting   hand  touched  her  shoulder......Kalpana  lifted  her teary  face..a  lady  smiled  at  her.....kalpana  felt  relieved  that  there  was  someone  talking  to  her  at  this  moment  of  stress.....they  had  a  a  lively  conversation...and  soon  boarded   the  flight  after  a  four  hour  delay
kalpana was greeted  by  her  grandfather's  step  brother...he  was  also  considered   as  grandfather  by  kalpana....Krishna Bahadur  was  a  very  pleasant  person......he drove  Kalpana  straight  Apollo  hospital.. Chennai...her  mother   Shalini   was   weeping  uncontrolably    while  her  bother Deepak  was  leaning  against  the  wall  of  the  ICU.....their  father  was in......Kalpana  rushed to  hug  her  mother   ,while   Krishna  bahadur  spoke  to  the  doctors....there  was   lot  of  money  for  the  operation

kalpana shuddered      to  think  the  worse...if  they  failed  to  get  the  big  amount  of  money  ..she  saw  her  grandfather  leave   ,,,what  was  she  to  do?  Where  was  she  to  go.?.her  family's   quiet  life  had  been  shattered........her   brain  was  working   over time......
,then  a  miracle  happened...Krishna  Bahadur  rushed  in  to meet  Shalini...
'i  have  the  money   you  need.......Shalini...hurry...go    ..go  see  the  surgeon..''He  rasped   handing  a  cheque   to  her  ,Kalpana
rushed  to  her  mother's  side  and   took  a  look  at the  cheque...her  tears  fell...in  gratitude...her   grandfather  was  a   saviour....she  would  work  hard  to  pay  him  back...''
within  minutes  her  father  was  wheeled  in   into  the  operation  theatre.....and  after   four  hours  of  surgery.....he  was  back  in  the  ICU   ......no  visitors  were  allowed..........Deepak   bought  hot  tea  in  a flask  and   buns,,,for his  mother  and  sister.......kalpana  stayed  with  her  mother  all  the  while  while Deepak  returned  home  to  check  on  their  house......he  switched  on  the  lights  ..showered  and  quickly  gobbled  up  two  buns  and  had  a  cup  of  tea  and  rushed  back  to  the  hospital.... kalpana  looked  tired   and  their  mother  had  stopped  crying.....she  was  talking  to  Krishna  Bahadur..thanking  him  profusely   ..God  had  answered  their  prayer  through   her  father  in  laws 's  step  brother.
......Deepak   went  back to work  after the third day  ,,,, Mohan  shetty    was getting   better  and  stronger,.......when  he  opened  his  eyes  ...he  could  see   his  wife  and  sweet  daughter  kalpana  and  Krishna   Bahadur   looking  down  at  him...a  glimmer  of  a  smile  appeared  at  corner  of  his  eye....and  he  also  managed  a  slight  smile  on  his  lips......Shalini  held  his  hand  so  tightly
kalpana  touched his   forhead  lovingly.......everything  would  be   getting  better  for  them.........thought  kalpana
Deepak  visited   in  the  evening..only  after  that    did  shalini  and  kalpna  return  home  ,,had  a proper  shower...ate  a full  meal...rested  the  whole  night  and  went  back  to  the  hospital....and remained   there   ..watching  over   Mohan Shetty....the  nurses  checked  on  him   on  regular  hours  and  monitered  his  recovery;;  he  was responding   well  to  treatment  post  operation.......and  one  the  4th  day  he  could  sit  up  on  bed  and   he  spoke  softly   ,,in  order  not  to  strain
'ah   Mr  sheety  ...you  are  up.......very  good '' Dr  joshi    praised......a  few  more  days   here....then  you  can  go  home  but  no  straining  whatsoever........
' I will  take  care  of  myself  doctor...thank  you  ' replied  Mohan  shetty...
kalpana  and  her  mother  shalini   stayed  in  and  out  of  ICU.....later  joined  by  Deepak.
in  a  few  days  we  can  all rest  at  home...thanks  to  Matarani..we  must  have  a pooja  at  home.....' said ' Shalini  Shetty  though  very tired ... the  thanksgiving   must  be  done.......
