Mahira's POV
I don't know exactly what happened. His face became blurred, my mind went numb, and before he could say another curse word, I fainted in his arms.
While sleeping peacefully on her king-size bed, Mahira did not realize that her legs were being touched by two muscular hands that slowly moved up toward her thighs. She was extremely shocked when she realized that those hands were trying to grab her kurta and uncover it. Her body shivered as someone touched and kissed her belly button briefly. She was so distraught that tears started rolling down her cheeks. She tried to scream out loud, but she couldn't because someone's muscular hand was covering her mouth. She attempted to kick him with her legs, but his body was heavier and stronger than hers. Desperately, she tried to resist, hitting his chest as hard as she could with her fists, but it was all in vain.
He grabbed her hands and firmly pinned them on the bed, forcing her to stop struggling. She immediately opened her eyes to see who was attacking her. To her horror, she noticed two intense, chocolate-brown eyes staring back at her with a lustful, evil glint. His face twisted into a sinister grin. She froze in shock as she recognized him. He was the same man who always haunted her dreams, hurting her over and over again. She whispered his name, her voice trembling:
"Uday."
No other word escaped her mouth. She was terrified beyond comprehension.
Her fear brought a small, satisfied smile to his lips. The terror in her eyes seemed to fuel him. He wasn't human—he was a demonic entity that thrived on fear and despair.
For a few moments, they gazed at each other before he leaned closer, attempting to claim her lips. Mahira felt a wave of dark, negative energy emanating from him, making it clear his intentions were anything but good.
Their proximity was unnervingly close, leaving no space between them. She shut her eyes tightly, bracing herself for the dreadful event she had dreaded in her dreams. As his hand touched her lips, a cruel smirk spread across his face. Without hesitation, he pressed his lips to hers.
The kiss was intense at first, almost aggressive, but then it softened, becoming gentle and unsettlingly tender.
Mahira's initial terror began to dissolve. Her mind grew foggy, and to her own disbelief, she found herself enjoying the kiss. Her hands instinctively moved upwards, grabbing his hair tightly, pulling him closer. Uday seemed surprised by her sudden wildness, but he knew she wanted more.
A small moan escaped her lips, unintentional but audible. Uday was amazed. He realized she wasn't entirely in her senses anymore.
Just as Mahira began to lose herself, he grabbed her hair roughly, pulling her back. She gasped in pain, shouting, "Ahhh!" Their faces were now inches apart, her honey-colored eyes locked with his dark, predatory gaze.
He smirked at her trembling figure. As a demon, he was a predator, and playing with his victim's emotions—breaking them physically and mentally—was his ultimate power. But Mahira was different. She intrigued him in a way no one else had.
"Humari chhoti si jungli billi," he murmured with a twisted grin.
(My little wild cat.)
He tilted her chin upward, his piercing gaze burning into hers. Leaning closer to her ear, his lips barely brushing her skin, he whispered in a tone that sent shivers down her spine:
"Thoda sabr karna sikho, maharani."
(Learn to be patient, my queen.)
Before she could react, he leaned into her neck and bit her hard. The pain was excruciating, and she screamed, "Ahhhhhh!" Blood began trickling from the wound. Panicked, she pushed him away with all her strength and stared at him in horror.
Her eyes widened as she saw his fangs glinting in the dim light. His eyes had turned a deep, blood-red hue, and her blood dripped from his lips. He looked less human and more monstrous—a demon, a vampire, or perhaps something worse.
With an evil grin, he grabbed her hand and snarled, "Tumhari himmat kaise hui hume dhakka dene ki?"
(How dare you push me away?)
Tears streamed down Mahira's face as she shook her head violently, crying, "No! Please, leave me! Don't hurt me!"
Suddenly, someone shook her shoulders hard. Her eyes flew open, and the nightmare dissolved into reality.
"Mahira! Mahira! Wake up!" Tanya's voice cut through the haze.
Mahira gasped for breath, relief washing over her as she saw Tanya sitting in front of her, her eyes filled with tears. Tanya hugged her tightly, whispering, "It's okay, Mahira. Look around—you're fine."
Tanya gently rubbed her back, calming her. After a few moments, Mahira broke the hug and looked around. She was in a hospital room, surrounded by a doctor and two nurses. Her grandmother, Dida, stood behind the doctor, her face etched with worry.
Mahira turned her head and saw Arjun standing near the bed, concern and confusion written on his face.
But her heart stopped when she saw him—the man from her nightmare, Uday. He stood in the corner, his expression a mixture of shock and confusion.
Mahira's body began to shake uncontrollably. Her lips quivered as she whispered the name once more, her voice trembling:
"Uday."
