Declan woke up that morning and remembered he had Combat with Karter first. He groaned as he jumped out of bed and got ready. Before he went to get breakfast, he went to Bear's dorm and knocked on the door. He leant on the doorframe and waited for him to open the door. A crack was seen and a small slither of Bear's face was poking out. Declan pushed past, making Bear fall to the floor.

"You awake yet?" Declan asked sarcastically.

"I am now.." Bear said in a bitter tone. He rubbed his eyes as he went to go get his clothes from his drawer. "I have to change now." Bear told Declan, hoping he got the hint.

"Oh, I don't mind." Declan told him with a smile. He got the hint, but whether he wanted to take the hint seriously or not was a different matter. Declan finally turned around and Bear got dressed. When he was done, he rubbed his eyes.

"Why are you here?" He asked.

"I'm just waiting for you, we can go get breakfast together." Bear grinned. 'His smile is so cute...' Declan thought to himself.

They walked down together to get breakfast. They were talking and laughing on the way. Bear's stomach grumbled.

"Hungry, are you?" Declan joked.

"Haha." Bear said sarcastically. "It's early. Don't be like that." They sat down and Declan put his arm around Bear, and Bear blushed so hard his face looked like a tomato. "We have to get to class soon. I have Equestrian skills next. You know what'll happen to me if I turn up late... Maggie would destroy me." Bear told Declan.

"I got Karter. Combat always tops Equestrian skills in suckiness when your late. Anyway, before you go, I want to take you somewhere."

"Ok... but make sure I get back soon. Seriously." Declan took Bear's hand.

"Come on, Mr. Paranoid."

Declan led Bear out into the woods. Declan kept going further and further. The buildings were the size of ants at this point.

"This is where I go when I miss my dad. It brings me back to my childhood. I've never told anyone about this before. You're welcome to come here anytime. It helps me. It can help you too." Declan said as he pointed out a small platform made out of wooden planks inside of the tree. Bear stopped to admire the place Declan had showed him. There was a glittering lake next to the tree, filled with fish. There were trees that surrounded it, and creatures that made sweet sounds. The tree itself was tall and strong, with it looked old and important. The sunlight shined through the leaves and shone upon a platform that lay perfectly upon the openings between the branches.

"Thank you, really. It means a lot to me." Bear told Declan. "I got to get back to class now. Catch you later?"

"Catch you later, Bear." Declan said with a smile. Declan watched as Bear ran to class, so not to be late. Declan looked down and smiled, before running back to the academy himself.
