Later that night, after they have been introduced to the Tia Auran helpers, and have been shown their rooms.

Declan looked outside his window that led to the balcony. It was dark, a pink moon providing a small glimmer of light to shine through his glass door onto his bed. He couldn't stop thinking about Bear. He was in the room next to his. What difference would it make if he just went over there to see him. Alone, before participating in one of the Gates the following day.

As he walked outside, he saw Kaiden walk out onto his own balcony as well. Declan hid next to a pillar to hide so that Kaiden wouldn't see him. Kaiden seemed to have the same idea, and started climbing over his own balcony to go to Alex's. 'Ah.. Young love...' Declan thought to himself. He waited until he was sure Declan wouldn't see him before climbing over his own balcony to Bear's.

Bear heard someone hit something, most likely a body part, on his balcony wall. "SHIT!" That person cursed loudly. Bear reached over to his bedside table, grabbing the first hard thing he could find.

A dark figure stood outside of his window, all features covered by a layer of darkness.

"Go away, I know how to fight." Bear warned.

"Relax, it's just me." Declan said as he forced the doors open.

"DAMMIT DECLAN! You scared me!" Bear said, and put his alarm clock back down on his bedside table. Declan chuckled.

"Sorry, I just couldn't sleep without seeing my little Teddy Bear." Declan teased and rubbed Bear's head, messing up his hair. Bear fixed it and opened his mouth to say something, but failed. He had no words to say, so he snapped his mouth closed.

"Don't talk, just kiss me." Declan said and pulled his own head towards his own. His large hand gently caressed the side of bear's jaw. Bear, confused, pulled his head away and took one step away from Declan.

"Oh. I'm sorry. Too soon? Forget this. I'm sorry for doing that to you..." Declan said, but Bear sprang forward and kissed Declan. This time, Declan was the one who was surprised, but kissed him right back anyway.

Declan's hand, once again, caressed the side of Bear's jaw, and Bear's hand was placed at the back of Declan's neck. Bear's lips were so soft. This was pure bliss. They could stay like this forever, never moving again. Declan pulled his head away and put his thumb on Bear's bottom lip.

"I'm gonna go now.." Declan said and turned back towards the balcony.

"NO! Stay with me?" Bear pleaded. "Pleaseeeee Buttons?"

"Fine. But only because your Puppy dog eyes are so damn cute." Declan said and got onto Bear's bed and cuddled him. He scooped him into his strong arms and nuzzled his head into Bear's neck.

Bear could feel Declan's warm breath on the back of his neck. As he lay on his bed, he closed his eyes and began to dream.

After about an hour, Declan felt Bear shaking. He began mumbling in his sleep.

"No.... Dad... Stop... NOO!" Declan shook Bear awake and Bear began panting as he sat up. He hugged Declan and began sobbing, making Declan's white shirt become see through.

"Shh... It's ok... It's ok....." Declan comforted as he hugged him tight.

When Bear fell back asleep, Declan left through the glass doors and went out onto Bear's balcony. Amazingly, Kaiden was out on his own balcony too, and saw Declan climbing over to his room. Kaiden grinned and winked at him

"Blah, blah, shut up." Declan said and glared at him. Kaiden had a twinkle in his eyes and they both walked back into their own rooms.
