Chapter Fourteen

He stared at me speechless, while I stared at him waiting for his answer
¨Never mind you-¨ I started but he cut me off
¨What if I do?¨
¨I-    ...Well I'm not sure.”I started before adding ¨I´m not even sure if I want to know the answer to it.¨
¨What was your question?¨ I asked, trying to change the subject.
¨I was going to ask...¨ He trailed off like he was trying to decide whether or not to ask me ¨If you liked me.¨
But before he could answer me, the sound of a phone ringing caught our attention
“Is that your phone?” I asked while Kageyama moved closer to the shore, before letting go of me
He didn’t answer me, but instead headed towards the ringing phone
“Hello?” I heard him say while he answered the phone, while I walked out of the water
He listened to the person on the phone for a bit, before holding the phone out to me
“It’s Kim,” He said causing me to reach for the phone
“Akina?” I said in a questioning tone while I held the phone up to my ear
“F/n, there is something you might want to know…” She said, causing me to glance over at Kageyama who had his back to me while he rang out his clothes the best he could
“What's that?” I asked while I turned my back to him, so I could focus on what Akina was saying
“It's your mom, she went to the police,” Akina said causing my eyes to widen
“My mom?” I said
“Well that's who we think did it, because there is a news story saying that Kageyama had kidnapped you,” 
“Kidnapped me? I think she is out of her mind.” 
“But Y/n, the bigger issue is that it's Kageyama. You know the guy you are with right now.” She said causing me to want too run my eyes
“Yea, I am well aware of that.” I said before adding “What do you think we should do then?”
“I’m not really sure.” She said while I turned to face Kageyama
“Ok, thanks for letting me know. I will call you back when I figure something out.” I said before hanging up the phone
“Did she already tell you?” I asked and he shook his head
“She told me it was important stuff that she needed to tell you.” He said while he started to leave the beach, causing me to follow behind him
“It was about my mom, apparently she went to the police saying that you kidnapped me.”
“Kidnapped you?” He repeated and I nodded 
“But I’m not sure what to do. My first thought was we shouldn’t be seen together.” I said, causing him to turn towards me
“But that was your first thought.” He said and I nodded
“Then I thought that we could go to the police station and try and clear things up, but I have a feeling my mom will do anything to make sure we sound like liars.” I said trailing off my words
“Option 3?” 
“A meteor hits my mom’s car while she is driving around town, and she dies.” I said, causing us both to laugh a little
“So what can we do?”
“I’m not sure.” I said before we started to walk again
“I feel like going to the police station would be the best choice.” He said causing me to glance back at him
“If we do that, it means we will have to go against my mom.” 
“We already did it once yesterday, so second time's the charm?” He said and I gave him a small smile before nodding
“Let’s do it then.”

The walk to the nearest police station was silent, neither of us knowing what to say
“How are we going to explain why we are all wet?” I asked after a while to break the silence
“Just tell them the truth, that is all we really can do.” He said and I nodded
“You know, Kageyama, about your question-”
“It’s fine L/n, you don't have to answer it.”
“It's not that I don’t want to answer it… It's just I don’t even know the answer to it.”
“What do you mean by that?” He asked while the police station was now visible to us
“It’s just with everything going on, I just feel like I have lost myself and who I truly am.” I said looking up at Kageyama who stopped in front of the police station
“I guess there really is one question that keeps running through my mind,” I said, causing him to look down at me

“Who am I?”

Y'all I am so sorry😭
I wanted to start writing more after softball season, but I ended up getting 3 jobs.
Yea... so now Im a lifeguard, chiptole worker, and I work at a local petstore. Anyways hopefully now thay I am out of school I can start writing more.
Anyways see you in a day (cause I already have the next chapter ready😂)
