Chapter 9 : Things just happen to me

Aubury's P.O.V.

Walking into the cafteria, all I can think is that the day is only half over. Only half! This day is going by so slow. With Amanda, I go stand in line to get food. My stomach growls impatiently, I can imagine it saying feed me, feed me.

I start tapping my foot impatiently before somebody taps me on the shoulder.

I turn around and a scowl appears on my face. This day just keeps on getting better and better. Not.

I look at the face of none other then Ryan Young, captain of the football team and most popular guy in school.He has messy blonde hair that falls just to his ears with green eyes that all the girls adore.

He's about 6' with broad shoulders. Apprantely he's got a six pack but I'm not looking to find out. You expect me to start drooling over him and become tongue tied right? Nope, not happening. Not today. Not EVER.

Ryan is the most annoying person I have ever met. We have been neighbours since we were 3 and it seems like his personal mission is to annoy the hell out of me every single day.

"What do you want" I snap at him.

"Woah, I just wanted to say hi, no need to PMS" he said holding his hands up.

"You seriously did not just say that Ryan" I said, shaking my head.

"What did I say wrong?" he said, trying to sound innocent.

"Nevermind, you're not even worth it, just go back to the world of jocks and cheerleaders. Oh and don't worry, you won't be missed" I said, turning away from him.

I look over at Amanda, to see her trying to stiffle a laugh. Glad she found that entertaining I thought bitterly.

"Awwww come on Aubury, I was just kidding" Ryan whined right behind.

I whip back around and get in his face.

"Ryan, just shut up. I don't want to talk to you, I never have and never will. Just because we are neighbours doesn't mean we are friends so just leave me alone. Got it?" I ranted before turning away from him.

Finally at the front of the line, I grab my food and pay for it and then wait for Amanda.

I see Ryan step out of line and make his way over to where I'm standing, I groan, does this guy ever give up? I sigh, the day can't end soon enough.

"Aubury" he starts and I go to interrupt him but he puts his hand up and says" Please let me finish, ok?" looking over at me to see if I'm going to say anything.

I stand there, waiting for him to go on so I can go sit down. Away from him.

"I thought we were friends. I know we are only neighbours but we have known each other for over 14 years. Can't you just give me a chance?" he said seriously.

"You have had 14 years of chances. Why do you suddenly want to talk to me now? It's not like I'm some cheerleader or anything. I'm just Aubury Grace, the same as I have always been. Why the sudden change of heart Ryan?" I ranted, frustrated.
