Y/N's POV

Tanjiro's eyes...

They were bleeding awfully a lot.

Tanjiro had his katana in a stabbing position and threw it at Daki's face.

Daki, unfortunately, was able to dodge his attack, doing some somersaults, backing up from the both of us.

She still got her feet though, which wasn't helping us finish our job sooner.

I jump onto the roof, next to Tanjiro's side, seeing that his eyes were bleeding even harder than before.

"Lives that have been lost will never come back. They won't ever return." Tanjiro suddenly said, freaking me out.

Daki ferociously looks at where her feet were cut off and regrew them at once.

"Living breathing creatures do not go the way of demons. Why do you take them? Why do you trample on people's lives?"

Suddenly, an image came in front of Tanjiro, an older person.

His appearance was similar to Tanjiro in multiple ways.

But how Tanjiro was scaring me out. Not because of his way of talking, his eyes bleeding, none of that.

The image of the person was somehow making me frighten, though I don't know why.

Are these oto-san's memories from his cells?...

"What's so fun about it? What's so enjoyable? What do you think lives are?" He continued, I fell to my knees, sweating.

Why am I so vulnerable right now, just listening to some mere words?!

"Why don't you know? How could you forget?"

I couldn't handle this anymore.

I at once sliced off both my ears. I couldn't handle hearing these words for some reason, I was so afraid just hearing them, that I could hear my heart beating faster each second went by.

I saw Tanjiro was still talking, but I couldn't hear him, as I felt the warm blood dripping off the side of my face.

Daki, out of nowhere, slams her fist into the roof, smirking while saying some random stuff.

Now I'm regretting cutting off my ear.

At least they were regenerating faster since I wasn't focusing much on any other parts of my body.

"... We don't fall sick. We don't die. We don't lose anything. And strong, beautiful demons can do anything!" I heard the last bit of Daki's small speech, her face looking like a maniac.

 "Alright, enough."

What the heck? That voice that didn't belong to Tanjiro is creepy.

Tanjiro sprints to Daki's side, attacking her constantly, as I...

I was being stupid, being useless right now.

That voice that was speaking with Tanjiro in unison...

Who the hell was that?...

I sat there, continuing to sweat from fear, till I heard Daki screaming:

"There's no way my head will ever be cut off by the likes of you!..."

I look over to my left side, seeing Daki's neck was now into a ribbon-like substance.

How is that?...

I stood up, wobbling a bit, but I managed to not fall off the roof.

Daki silently commanded her sashes at Tanjiro, who now did somersaults, backing up from her, just like how Daki did to Tanjiro earlier.

Suddenly, I don't know how, but the world seems to have gone slower.

Much slower.

Tanjiro and I both took half of the sashes that came towards us, we both not sweating a bit from the speed they were coming at.

"I won't let you cut me this time! It was a pure coincidence that you were able to graze my neck!"

Heh... coincidence, huh?

I felt my vision going blurry a bit, but I ignored it, seeing that this was more important.

I and Tanjiro simultaneously step to the side, where our sashes came together in one spot.

And I slam my katana onto the pile of ribbons that was gathered together.

Tanjiro had jumped over to Daki, taking this chance as I was able to keep Daki in place.

We're going to make it!...

But Tanjiro suddenly gasps for air, his hand placed at his face as he coughed out blood, causing him to drop his katana, and fall onto his knees right in front of Daki.

Shit!...

We were close to getting her neck, why now?

Daki was in shock, from that the 'weak boy' nearly got her.

Tanjiro kept coughing as if he had just choked on tea.

What happened?...

Then I gasp, needing air too.

So that was the problem... we both kept holding in our air the whole time.

I fell, my hands grasping onto the roof tile, trying to breathe, as my katana had fallen to my side.

But it hurts so much to even breathe!...

"Humans truly are miserable existence.. after all, no matter how far they desperately can get, they can only go so far... how sad.

I got up and hurried over in front of Tanjiro, blocking Daki from him.

"G-get away from him, D-Daki!" I stuttered, panting for air.

She laughed like a psycho, saying "Don't worry, I'll just cut off his-"

She never got to finish her sentence, thanks to Nezuko, kicking her head off.

"MMMMMH! MMMM!" She kept making the noise, her body full of her veins popping.

"Now you've done it! You!- Oh, it's you...

You're the one that man was talking about!" Daki claimed, growling at Nezuko.

"Nezuko-chan..." I mumbled, near to lose consciousness.

I wasn't so sure how much longer I could hold it.

Even so that I'm half-demon, meaning many things, I'm still a human too, so it makes me extra vulnerable.

I'm probably weaker at multiple things that both humans and demons have.

Unlike Nezuko, she has enough energy for years, even if she doesn't stop to rest, unlike me, where I must rest to regain my energy.

"Yeah, of course... if it pleases you!" Daki all of a sudden exclaimed as if she was talking to oto-san somehow.

I felt Tanjiro's head falling against my legs, which I look down to see he fainted from all that blood loss.

I wanted to join him in dreamland, but I couldn't leave Nezuko alone against a Uppermoon.

I sigh, leaving Tanjiro in a safe spot far from us, and ran over to Nezuko's side, who was buried under a pile of wood and decoration, and Daki walking to her side.

I jump down there, bending down to heal Nezuko the best I could.

Smoke started surrounding us, and I opened my eyes, enjoying the sensation that I used to hate for some reason.

I stared over at Daki, whose eyes who wide.

And I smiled, showing my fangs, and flap my F/C wings open.

"Let's have some fun, shall we, Daki?~"
