Y/n twirls her wooden batons and lowered herself into a fighting stance. Resting the right baton on her shoulder and left one near her stomach. Peter readjusted his blindfold and cracked his neck, picking up his staff. Peter lunged first, he rotated his staff a couple of times and swung it in a downward motion. Y/n brought both of her batons over her head, crossing them in an X position, to prevent him from making contact with her head.

Y/n dropped down and attempted to swipe Peter's legs. Peter flipped his body in an aerial just in time. Peter switched back to offense this time attempting to do a spinning roundhouse kick. Y/n dropped down and rolled under his leg landing on the other side of him. She popped back up on her feet.

Peter turned her body to Y/n. They began to circle each other like a predator stalking prey. This time Y/n struck first, she twirled her right baton and swung it at Peter. Peter blocked the hit with the top half of his staff. Y/n swung again, this time with her left baton. Peter blocked with the lower half of his staff.

Peter twirled his staff over his head and spun around to get momentum, he brought the staff down and managed to hit Y/n's left baton out of her hand. He gave a satisfied smile. Peter could hear the wood roll against the mat and onto the concrete floor. The smile was soon wiped off when Y/n's right baton connected with his left cheek.

"OW!"

Y/n and Peter both pulled off their blindfolds. She could see him rubbing his now bright red cheek. Peter cast a glare at Y/n "Did you have to hit me that hard?"

Y/n rolled her eyes and walked over to the wall. She plopped down on the bench, grabbing her water bottle off of the ground.

"Probably not." Y/n could admit she didn't have to hit him as hard as she did. but she also wanted him to be ready for anything that could come his way. It wasn't her fault he froze like a deer in headlights.

Peter took the spot next to her and rested his cheek on the cool wall behind them "That wasn't fair. One I couldn't see, and two we've only been training for a couple of months."

"I think it's totally fair. I trained harder than that and I was younger than you. And you weren't wearing the containment bracelet so you could use your spidey sense."

Y/n got up to get him ice across the room. He watched her "You can hurt someone with out a second thought. Does it ever even faze you?" Peter winced at himself. Y/n's eyebrows shot up in surprise.

She paused to think for a moment. It's not that she particularly enjoyed killing, she never did, but now it was like second nature to her. Most of the time she could pull the trigger without remorse because that's how deep she was.

"Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to but have to To see another day. Sometimes you don't get the privileges of choosing and the choice is made for you. So you ask if I regret doing the things I've done to survive.

I may seem like a monster but I don't, I really don't. It's just one of those things that you have to accept. The world doesn't just pause because you feel bad for yourself and that's just the harsh truth but the world is even harsher." Y/n scooped the ice into a bag and tied it in a not.
