I closed my eyes as my ears started ringing. I knew I was about to go into a panic attack. COME ON GRANNY SAY SOMETHING DAMNIT.

I felt a gentle hand on my back. I opened my eyes to see granny smiling with tears in her eyes. What the hell was she smiling for. This isn't some game. This is no time for her antics! My thoughts were interrupted by a voice I've never heard Weni use.

"Liviana, I am so happy this day has come. What I am about to tell you needs to stay between us. Not a soul should find out about this. Only when you've met your mate will you be able to trust to tell.." she started. I felt my throat tighten with the lump that had formed.

"You should know," she continued, " I never wanted to hide anything from you. Your mother and I were very close. She had never met her own mother and so she was like a daughter to me." She paused looking into my eyes. I'm sure for some emotion but there was no longer any.

Weni, someone I had trusted. The only one I had trusted. Lied to me? I almost don't want to listen to anymore. I went to get up and Weni raised her hand. Forcing me back down into the chair.

"My darling, I know you're upset. I promise at the end it will make sense. I loved your mother. She was the daughter this old warrior never got. Your mother wasn't originally from this pack. The late Alpha Gradian and Luna Cherise found your mother when she was young. She was lost in the woods so they brought her home only knowing her name from a small note left with her."

I thought back to the stories my uncle Maximus told me and this wasn't one of them. How on earth are so many people keeping secrets from me!

"Livi, they never told a soul. Not even Alpha Maximus. When your mother was going to shift for the first time. Your grand parents knew immediately something was wrong. So they asked I hide her with a cloaking magic. Make her smell normal. She didn't smell like a normal werewolf. Liviana your mother, she was a gift from the moon goddess. Her name is the name of the goddess herself. Selene, she was a Lycan liviana..."

The room started spinning I felt like I was going to throw up. Lycans were a myth. The last legend of a lycan was hundreds of years ago. This can't be right. This isn't happening. How can a wolfless girl be daughter of a lycan.. was.. was my mom the beast I saw. Is that beautiful monster a lycan?

"Liviana when you were born she asked that I hide something till it was safe for you. I'm afraid Selene must've had other plans, or that danger is coming. That means we have run out of time. You are a lycan Liviana Stoic. One of the last known of your kind. That voice, that 'monster' as you called her. She is your lycan." Weni looks defeated.

A lycan? I can't even shift! There is no way that beautiful creature is me. But I am you livi. Well kind of. Weni is telling the truth. The moon goddess has big plans for us. My name is Elena and I am your lycan. I felt my eyes widen. The voice was talking to me. It wasn't cryptic it was straight forward to say the least.

Weni grabs my head. "She is talking to you isn't she?" I nodded not knowing how to form words.

"Listen child, you won't shift till we leave. We will finally go back to my home. After all these years. It's time for you to learn who you really are. Liviana I know you may not forgive me for lying to you. Please understand if you wouldn't have been in danger I never would have. I have been the reason your lycan has just now appeared. I cloaked her but she was supposed to stay hidden till your 18th birthday. Clearly she had other plans."
