Revenge of the Dragon Hunters

CHAPTER I: BITTER TRUTH

Xeodes grew stronger, filled with hope that his father was going to come back, Without any clue of what had happened to his father and the rest of the army.  Now the boy was twenty years old.  As the prince, he had to train and become a mighty warrior.  Xeodes was not like the other people.  He had the heart of thunder and lighting. Any time he held a sword his opponent could not touch him because of his speed. He was special deep inside.  Xeodes asked his mother if she had received news from his father.  The queen was hurting inside and she could no longer bear to hide it from Xeodes and decided to tell him the whole truth of what had happened.
                      “Listen son, a few years ago, the general came to me and told me that everybody in the army was killed including the king.  But luckily, he was spared and was sent with a warning to the humans, that whoever tries to go and attack the dragons, will be killed and Apollyon will declare war against the humans and destroy the whole of azalea.”  Xeodes fell on his knees and wept bitterly.  In a blink of an eye, his hair started glowing, the skies became dark, and the flashing of lightning was seen.  He could not control himself.
                     The queen held his hand but any tear that fell from Xeodes shocked her. “Xeodes you can control this don’t let it control you.”  She bore the pain and struggled until he came back to his sense.  The queen handed over the map to Xeodes that his grand father king Joe had drawn. Xeodes swore that he would go and seek revenge for his father’s death.  He packed everything he needed and put his royal sword that he was given by his father the last time they saw each other, in the scabbard and went to look for the general who had been sent back with a message and try to know more about that king of dragons Apollyon.
                    When he came to the army, he found that the general had retired after what he had seen in the war. So Xeodes went and searched for him.  After two days of searching, he finally found him. He then asked him about his father. The general told him “Before the king died, he told me that I should only tell this to you only, in his room there is a secret chest hidden on the wall next to the window. And when you come closer, there is a writing saying ‘♌●♓■♎♏♎ ●□❖♏.’Wait until the sun rises and reflects ‘●’ then press it and you will find the chest.” 
                   When Xeodes heard this, he ran back to the palace and waited till the sun rose. He did as he was directed by the general and he found the chest. His heart beat hardly because he knew that his father had left for him many things. But to his surprise, the chest only had a dirty old sock. Seeing this, he was amazed and took the sock full of anger, threw it on the floor and stepped on it.  When he was busy staring at the sock with his eyes full of tears, he saw a letter inside.  He took the letter and decided to read it.
                    “Xeodes my son, I knew that I could not make it out of this war alive. So I wrote this letter to let you know that I don’t want you to follow in my steps.  In the past I did so many bad things. I destroyed the vital kingdom and I also used bleak magic to shut Agrekan up. I want you to correct my mistakes, and before I finish I want you to know that you have a sister. In the past I slept with a witch from the vital kingdom and she got a daughter. I hid her in azalea, please look for her. She lives with one of my female servant whose name is Hannah. I want you to awaken Agrekan using bleak magic. Only a true witch can awaken her. Sprinkle this golden dust on her and say the words that I have written there on that other piece of paper.
                       And before I forget, please apologise on my behalf to Agrekan when she awakes and also your mother. Son I always loved you, and I will always love you, and your mother.”

King Kong
                      After reading what his father had written to him, he quickly got up and went to his room to rest.  He knew that the following day, he would go and search for his step sister. Early in the morning the next day, he got up and started the search. He went asking people where he could find Hannah the most trusted servant of the king. Because he was the prince, people gave him directions. When he came to a certain house to ask for directions, he found a beautiful girl who he had not met before.  She stopped him and said in a mocking way “sir, I say sir.  I know who you are.” Xeodes asked her “how do you know me, you don’t look familiar,” “You are a lost soul coming to seek wisdom from me and I can give you one, but first pay me.” She interrupted. “Stop your nonsense I must find Hannah. Do you know where I can get her?” Xeodes asked.
                      “I can take you to where she is but not unless you pay me 10 pieces of silver because you are the prince.” She said while giggling. “How did you know that I was the prince?”He asked “how is it hard to know that you are the prince and yet every girl in this village talks about you.” she said.  “Ah, I see. Where is Hannah?  I need to talk to her right now.” Xeodes asked eagerly.
                       She took Xeodes to Hannah. Immediately Hannah saw him she asked “Hello prince Xeodes, long time no see you, so what brings you here?” “Before my father went to the war he wrote a letter and when I read it, I found out that I had a sister and she lives with you, so I have come to see her. Hannah stayed for some time without saying a word, and then she said “Okay, so you already know about it?  There she is, her name is Morgana.”
                      “That is impossible! You lied to me that my father had died a long time ago? But then it turns out that my father was the king.  All that time you have been hiding the truth from me. No wonder I could feel something wasn’t right.  And what is this power that you keep calling a gift; tell me the truth right now. Every time I touch a flower it withers or blossoms. Why am I different from the other people?” Morgana asked while mourning.
                       Then Hannah replied “Let me tell you the whole truth. Some years ago, while King Kong had gone to revenge for his father’s death King Joe, he went to the vital kingdom, pretended to be friendly and killed every living soul. But before he did that, the days he had stayed there, he slept with a witch and got a daughter. He killed even the mother so that no one could know what had happened. He then brought her to azalea. He brought the child to me and threatened to kill me if I ever mentioned it to anyone. He paid me and sent me away to raise you in secret, Morgana. You are a witch that’s why you have that kind of power. It is not just a gift it is called bleak magic”

                       “I had just come to see her and to ask for her help to awaken Agrekan. I promised myself that I would revenge for my father’s death and make things correct.”Xeodes said. Morgana agreed to go and help Xeodes to awaken Agrekan and also revenge for their father’s death. They went and sprinkled the golden dust in the lake and Xeodes gave Morgana the piece of paper that had the words to awaken Agrekan.
                        
                        After she had said the words Agrekan did not wake up. They tried as many times but it did not work until they decided to give up.  Xeodes told her that she had to say it confidently and overcome the anger that was bothering her. As they tried it again, this time her eyes turned black and the spell worked. Agrekan woke up. But Morgana fainted
                       When Morgana woke up, she saw Xeodes talking to a lake and then fainted again. When she woke up, she asked Xeodes if he was nuts because he was talking to a lake. “What! You mean that you do not know Agrekan? Then why did you wake her up? Xeodes asked when confused. “The reason I did it is because you told me to do it, and I had no clue of what I was doing.” She replied. “You two better know that even though I am a lake I am not deaf.” Agrekan interrupted.
                         He thanked them and told them what had happened in the past. “Listen you two, humans and sorcerers were supposed to be friends. King Joe went to the vital kingdom and they were welcomed. They stayed with the sorcerers for two years but when they went to the dragon territory, they were killed. That’s when this war started. King Kong thought that the sorcerers were also involved in the killing of King Joe so he decided to seek revenge. He killed everyone and burned the vital kingdom down. I tried to stop them but he shut me up. That is why you Xeodes were chosen to bring balance to the world. Before King Kong shut me up, there was a certain sword that was in the vital kingdom, known as the sword of thunder.
                       I kept it at the western part of vital kingdom because I knew that if it could have fallen to the wrong hands; humans could use it for their evil ways. Only you can lift it up. That’s why when you were small you were struck by thunder. That made you the son of thunder and lightning.  Always know that you are special and you have the heart of thunder.  I will help you find it and use it to defeat Apollyon the dragon.
