<<Can I meet them?>>.
I looked at her in concern. <<You... Do you really want to meet him?>>.
She smiled. <<So it's a him, huh?>>.
I blushed and shook my head, gesturing with both hands. <<I-it's not as you think! I know you don't want me to fall in love with boys and...>>.
<<Denki>>, she stopped me, placing a hand on her heart. <<It doesn't matter who it is, what matters to me is your happiness now. So, why don't you introduce him to me?>>.
I smiled softly. <<You... you already met him, actually>>, I admitted, looking down.
<<Oh! That guy with purple hair?>>, she asked in amazement. <<He's really good looking! How is he? Is he sweet? I bet he is!>>.
I laughed and scratched the back of my head. <<Yes, he is indeed. He's so cute when he's embarrassed and he is really kind. He's the type who has only a few friends, but he's awesome with them>>, I said.
<<Then? Where is he?>>, mom asked with pure curiosity.
<<Wait a second, I'll be right back!>>, I announced with a bright smile, putting the sweater back on. I walked towards the big door and opened it. He was right there, sitting on a bench, his left foot tapping nervously on the floor. <<Hitoshi!>>, I called.
He got up and approached me in a second. <<Is everything okay? Do you want to go home? Did she tell you something bad?>>.
I shook my head and giggled. <<None of the above. Can you come inside?>>. He frowned but nodded. I took his hand and dragged him in front of mom, tugging on his arm. <<Mom, this is Hitoshi. Hitoshi, this is my 'new and revised' mom!>>.
<<Hi, Hitoshi-kun>>, mom greeted him.
He looked at her with wide eyes, studying her face and her soft smile. <<A-are you sure you're the same person I've met yesterday?>>, he asked, stuttering.
Mom laughed gently. <<No, I don't think so>>.
Hitoshi smiled brightly. <<Then nice to meet you ma'am, my name is Shinsō Hitoshi and I'm your son's boyfriend>>.
Mom looked at me with wide eyes. <<B-boyfriend? Already?>>, she asked with a surprised smile.
I was as red as a tomato, still tugging on Hitoshi's arm. I nodded anyway, a shy smile appearing on my face.
After a few minutes of talking and chatting, an officer came closer and told us the time was up.
Mom called me one last time. <<Denki, could you do me a favor?>>, she asked.
I nodded. <<Anything you want, mom>>.
<<Could you... write everything of your life and send it to me, please? I want to catch up with you... I wasn't a mother with whom you could talk, so... please, I want to know everything>>, she asked.
I smiled. <<Sure!>>.
She didn't know I had already written tons of letters to her, every day I wrote one, telling her everything that happened throughout the day. No matter how tired I was. No matter if it was day or night. There were hundreds of letters in the box under my bed, I just could never send them to her, but now I was able to. I would've sent them right away.
We headed out of the police station after thanking the officers with a deep bow.
<<Hitoshi?>>, I called.
