Chapter 7

Char's POV

Paul was in his office filming videos and I was helping Jen make her couple of ears headbands. Every once and while we would hear Paul make a loud noise and Jen and I would look at each other and laugh. Paul came out and got more gamer supps and came over to see what we were doing. We started having a conversation and laughing while we worked on the ears. "Well have to go meet Connor and help him out with one of his vlogs," Paul said as he gave Jen a goodbye kiss and me a hug before he left. 

Jen and I continue to make the ears and talk, "I wish Paul didn't have to leave," Jen stated, "why do you say that it's not anythings going to happen" I assured her, "I guess so," she replied. We continued working on the ears but I could still see the worry written all over her face. But non the less we kept working. 

5 hours later

Jen's POV

I'm starting to get worried Paul should have been back by now.  I walk into Chars room and start talking, "Hey, do you know if Paul said what time he will be back?" "um, no, sorry," I replied, "ok, I'll text him." I left Char's room and headed towards my phone and texted Paul asking where he was. I ended up going to sit on the couch and turned on the tv, the news was on, and I didn't care to change the channel. 

The news was playing in the background as I scrolled on my phone. I was not really listening at all till I heard the breaking news," man seriously injured in a tragic car accident," Jen was intrigued and looked at the screen and her jaw dropped, she was frozen in shock until her phone started ringing. she walked over in a daze, "Hello?"

Paul's POV

I headed over to Connor's place and knocked on his door. We were going to play kerplunk for his vlog, " Bro, that's not fair that ball should have fallen" Connor exclaimed and then took a shot of hot sauce. We finished the game and then Connor got in my car to go get lunch. We went to the good old in and out, we finished getting the food and headed back to Connors place to eat the food. 

I finished eating the food and I said my goodbyes to Connor and headed out. I got in my car and drove away. I couldn't wait to get home and hang out with Jen and Char. I got on the highway and was cruising along. It was dusk and I was exhausted relaxed not paying much attention to the road. I was staring at the sunset and admiring the fade from blue to red to black as the sun goes down.

I continued to stare at the sunset until I heard a loud honking and I looked over and saw a bulky semi truck barreling towards me from across the highway. I looked at it very intimidated and was coming fast, dead on for me and my car. I froze in the moment, I had no clue what to do. 

I felt the impact there was a loud bang and my head and whole body was getting whipped around. The car got pushed off the side of the highway and was flipping. All of a sudden I felt nothing it was all numb and blurry until everything turned to black. 

I woke up and there was so much pain everywhere, my ears were ringing and my head was pounding. I could feel a sharp pain in my chest and I could not feel my legs. anything I could feel was pure pain. I could hear a faint noise of sirens in the distance. I blacked out again.

I slowly regained conciseness and noticed a woman standing on the side of the car, she was an EMT trying to get to me. At this point, I was probably half consensus. They were able to get me out and rushed me to an ambulance. I was going in and out of conciseness again. felt like I was falling into infinity. Then everything went black... again. 

Jen's POV

"Hello?" I said nervously, "Hi, I would like to inform you that Paul Kennedy is in the hospital right now after a severe car crash, you were on the contact list as his fiance" Yeah that's correct, is he ok?" I said panicked, "we are doing the best we can," I sighed, "ok, thank you for letting me know." I hung up and ran to get Char. "get in the car, NOW," I exclaimed, "why? What's going on?" she said worriedly. "It's Paul he got into a car crash. She glanced over at the tv and saw the news and the crash scene. Her facial expression changes drastically. we got into the car and drove to the hospital.
