Disclaimer... I do not own Percy Jackson or Harry Potter. They belong to Rick Riordan and J.K. Rowling. I simply had the audacity to make them brothers. Wow, those three lines made me almost emotional to type. I have been away from Wattpad for sooooooo long. Anyways, On with the Story!
A few days later, it was the day to shop.
Mrs Weasley explained to them how the Floo Powder worked. One by one, all of them disappeared in the fireplace. Of course something had to go wrong. Harry ended up in Knockturn alley and Percy could not find him anywhere. So without a second thought, he ran off in one direction, assuring Mrs Weasley that he will find Harry.
Harry exited the dingy shop and ended up in a dark alley. A raggedy looking witch walked up to him and dragged her nail along his cheek and said, "Are you lost?"
"No, he is sightseeing." A voice made her jump back from Harry.
"Mind your own business kid." The witch hissed at Percy. Percy casually twirled his wand on his fingers before pointing it at her, "How about no?"
The witch let go of Harry's collar that he had not noticed she had caught. Harry quickly ran up the stairs and pulled Percy away from the entrance.
"You need to work on your pronunciation." Percy noted with a snicker.
"Shut up, smoke got in my mouth." Harry snapped back.
Percy then sobered up and said, "But seriously Harry, you gave us a scare there. I remember reading about that place. All sorts of black market shady dealings take place there." Then he took a deep breath and smiled.
"Let's go them. I heard a famous author is here. The very same one Mrs Weasley adores. I need to calm my eagerness down by insulting him sarcastically before she comes back from Gringotts." Percy said as he pulled his brother to the crowded book store.
They entered the shop and Percy quickly pushed his way to the front, leaving behind an exasperated Harry.
"Mr. Lockhart? Mr. Lockhart? Are you single?" a female reporter asked.
"Why of course I am." Gilderoy Lockhart said and fixed the crowd with his few pennies worth smile that the people supposedly loved to see.
"Mr. Lockhart?" Percy raised his hand and Harry facepalmed from his place at the back.
"Yes. I see I have inspired the younger generation as well." Lockhart kept smiling.
"Is it true you faced more than 1000 dementors alone?" Percy asked in a fake awed voice.
"Yes. It is written in chapter 17 of my new book." Lockhart raised his book and the reporters furiously wrote.
"What is your Patronus?" Percy asked.
"A dragon. It signifies my soul. Brave and fierce." Lockhart smiled again and the female population sighed in unison.
"I have read about this charm. You seem to be the only one who has a mythological creature as your Patronus, which is claimed impossible by many notable witches and wizards in history. Can you show us?" Percy asked curiously.
"What? I mean~ like now? Really?" Lockhart managed to keep the smile on his face.
"Please." Percy used the famous baby seal eyes, his bottom lip pushed forward. The female reporters cooed at the cuteness and looked at Lockhart expectantly.
"Expecto Patronum." He waved his wand and saw only a wisp of light come out, but that was it.
"It does not seem to be working now eh?" he laughed and the crowd sympathised with him.
"Are you not happy that you are surrounded by your fans? Are you claiming that you were the happiest when surrounded by the dementors? Do you prefer the dementors over your fans?!" Percy fake gasped in hurt. The crowd was easily swayed as they looked at the blond accusingly.
"What is your name kid?" the blond asked.
"Percy Jackson. I'll be starting my second year." Percy said.
"Patronus is a very tricky spell. Reading about it doesn't mean that you know everything about it." he said in a cheeky voice.
Percy's anger flared up. Being called inexperienced was the last straw. It seems like the phony has to be taught a lesson.
"Very well," he brought out his wand and waved it, "Expecto Patronum."
A ball of light shot from his wand and solidified into a wolf. Percy grinned but it slowly sapped his energy. He was just a 12 year old for crying out loud. So he said a 'finite' and the wolf disappeared.
"Second year. Inexperienced. Chapter 17, your book, a wolf Patronus portrays that a person is a born leader. Thank you." Percy disappeared in the crowd. He saw that his brother was not there at the back and safely assumed that he won't be getting a scolding for stumping a famous figure.
Pretty soon, the Weasley family along with Hermione and Harry entered the book store.
"Mrs Weasley, I'll be upstairs to check if they have book in Greek." Percy told the woman.
"Are you alright dear? You seem out of breath." She noted worriedly.
Percy gave her a smile, "It is nothing. Just my claustrophobia acting up." Then he ran upstairs and avoided the pointed look Harry was ending his way.
Call me a hypocrite but I secretly believe that the only reason Dumbledore had brought Lockhart into the school was to make him embarrassed as heck and have him humiliated and his secrets out to the public. And so he thought~ Hmm, how should I do that. Oh I know! Lets have him teach DADA, get on the bad side of Severus and make him cross paths with our lovely little Trio.
Anyways, that was my thoughts. Let me know your reasoning. Comment and until we meet again.
