Heart Like Yours (Hinata x Reader)

A/n: This oneshot was requested by atsui_chan.Thanks for requesting! This one was a little rush, but I really hope you enjoy it :) Inspired by Willamette Stone's 'Heart Like Yours'.

"Shoyo! I've been looking everywhere for you. What are you doing here?" You stared at the boy who's sitting alone in the hallway. Hinata look up to see a (h/c) girl, looking down to face him. "Just... wanting to calm myself down before our game against dateko," He put his head between his knees back like before. Your face softened down a little before squatting down to be the same height as the grumpy boy.

"Are you scared?" You asked softly. "Isn't it obvious? Look at their heights. I'm just a shrimp against them," he sighed before continue. "Other schools with taller players also lost to them. There's no way I can spike the ball through their iron wall," You smiled, before holding his hand. "Hey, look at me, Shoyo,"

He slowly raise his face, but still avoiding eye contact. "Hey, you don't have to worry about that. Win or lose is part of the game. What matter most is you do your best!" "But I want to win, y/n. I want to go to nationals," You hold his face and caress his cheeks. "I know, that's why I told you to do your best. You can't win until you release your true potential,"

Hinata still didn't look at you. He's lost in thoughts of not being a good enough middle blocker for his team. All he could think about is his disadvantage; and how everyone else is a better player than him. Realising that he still didn't believe in himself, you place a quick kiss on his forehead.

"Y/N WHAT ARE YOU DOING--" He finally look at you in the eyes. You laughed at his blushing face. "You sure get embarassed easily, Shoyo," "Of course I do! I didn't expect that!" Your laughter gets louder. "Well, that's the only way to bring you back to earth. I know you didn't pay attention to what I said earlier,"

He pout, making you pinch his cheeks. "That hurts!" You chuckle. Once you've calm down, you caress his cheeks again. "Shoyo, you do know that I love you no matter what, right? Don't be scared. I'll be in the crowd watching you. My cheers will be the loudest. I'll scream your name everytime you score,"

"It's okay. You'll be alright. I know you will. And I know you will win too. So stand up, walk inside the court and show them what you can do!" Hinata's face light up a little, making you relieve. "Kick their asses, okay? I'll see you right after your game," You give him another kiss; this time on the nose.

"Y/n?" "Hm?" You look into his hazel coloured eyes. "How could a heart like yours ever love a heart like mine?"  You smiled. "Did you really just asked me that? Can't you see why?" He shakes his head; which made him earned a hug from you. ""Because you aren't scared to be yourself. No matter what people say, you don't listen. When they say you're annoying, you still didn't change because you know you're you; You don't have to change for someone else happiness because everyone is unique in their own way, and you're beautiful just the way you are,"

His eyes are now wide open; he didn't expect you to say such thing. He was so blind by how skilled other people is that he can't see his own quality. Just because he's at disadvantage due to his height, that's doesn't make him less than everyone else. "You see now, Shoyo? You're not less in any way at all. Because you are you, and no one can be a better you except for yourself,"

"Yeah," He finally hugs you back. "Thanks, y/n. You've opened up my eyes. Now I have nothing to be scared off," You pulled out and smile at him. "Good, because your match is going to start real soon. Let's get back to others, shall we?" You offered your hand to him. "Mhm! Let's go!"

"HINATA NICE KILL!" The bench cheer loudly. Hinata has been scoring for 4 times in a row now. He have never be able to do something like this before. Maybe because his mind used to be full of doubt, making him scared to jump and spike the ball. But not anymore. His mind is so clear as a crystal now. Thanks to y/n's words earlier, he's now able to play with his full potential.

The thoughts of how tall his opponent is compared to him doesn't bother him anymore. His opponents may have the height, but he have both the power and the stamina. Just because he's shorter than everyone else doesn't mean he's at a disadvantage. He's as good as other people, and he can see that now.

"Shoyo! That game was on fire! You've never played better before. It's like you're the little giant!" You run to him after his game. "Right, y/n? He really was on his game today!" Suga said from behind Hinata while stroking his hair. "Ehe! That's because I have a little angel lifting me up earlier!" He said making you blushed at his words. "Oh really?" Suga raised up his eyebrow. "Well, I'm gonna leave you two alone. I'll continue celebrating with others," He walked away, leaving you and your boyfriend by yourselves.

"Hey," Hinata pulls you into a hug and kiss your head. "Thank you so much princess," You raised your head to face him, still resting your body in his arms. "For what? I barely did anything," "For making me see my worth. I've never knew I need to hear those words until you say it. I love you so much," You smile, and give him a quick peck on the lips. "I love you too babyboo,"
