Chapter 5

"Wilbur! Will! Wilbur wake up!" Tommy yelled. "Wilbur!" Wilbur jolted awake with Tommy kneeling over him, shaking his shoulders. Wilbur's throat hurt like mad, his head even worse.

"What- what is Tommy?" Wilbur managed to croak.

"You were screaming your head off! Did you have a bad nightmare or something?"

"I- yeah... I think so." Wilbur groaned and covered his face with the pillow.

"Wilbur, you sound and look terrible. Do you need a doctor? Should I get dad?" Tommy genuinely looked worried.

"No need to get me." Philza appeared at the doorway. "Tommy, do you mind leaving?" Tommy took one look at Philza's face and backed out slowly.

"Yeah... I think I'll go back to bed." Tommy raced off.

"Well, was it a dream?" Philza asked. Wilbur nodded slowly. "Why was it so bad this time?"

"It was our kingdom." Wilbur shuddered. "All the other dreams... It was chaotic too, but this one... I saw people I knew. I saw Tommy. I saw you! And everything was burning... Everything..." Philza looked extremely worried.

"Who was the enemy? The villains?"

"The- the usual villain... he wasn't there. I mean... he wasn't there in his form but I could sense his evil everywhere." Wilbur swallowed. "The people burning down our kingdom were wearing black... red and black. I don't know why all of a sudden I dreamt about our kingdo- Father? Are you okay?" Wilbur stopped talking. Philza was clenching the bed's post so hard his knuckles were white. "Father?" Philza looked as if he didn't hear him.

"Wilbur." He said at last. "Gods don't dream."

"What... What do you mean? Am I not a god then?"

"No Wilbur, you are a god. But..." Wilbur realized what his father was talking about. "Wilbur, gods don't dream. They predict the future."
