Wilbur mindlessly wandered in the woods again, this time with a bow. He hadn't gone hunting in ages, and needed a skill to focus on something other than the near horrors. Niki, of course, had tagged along.

Wilbur crouched behind a bush and signaled Niki to do the same as he saw a large rabbit appear from a tunnel. Wilbur steadied his aim as the rabbit carefully looked around for predators. The wind was blowing the wrong way for the rabbit, and Wilbur's scent was covered in nature anyway. As the rabbit slowly padded toward the protection of the tall grass, Wilbur swiftly let go of the string. Wilbur could see every milli-second as the arrow spun in through the bush and... landed two centimeters next to the rabbit's tail. The rabbit squealed in shock and bounded back down the tunnel entrance. Wilbur bluntly stared at the arrow. He hadn't missed a shot in years. Now, in the power of godship, he miscalculated? Godship had done nothing but affect Wilbur's life negativity. He hated it.

Niki congratulated the attempt. Wilbur turned around, then froze. The world shifted. He saw it again, the shadow. The broken monster of a damaged soul.

Kill! KILL! The voices pleaded. It was the first time Wilbur had heard them when in the presence of Niki. Just as soon as they arrived, the sound of the voices slipped away, but the echo remained. Kill, KILL! Wilbur loaded an arrow. KILL! The voices sounded like they were struggling to speak. Wilbur would put it out of its misery. Wilbur would do the right thing-

Don't. Listen. To. It! This voice wasn't the voices, nor his own. It was Philza. Wilbur flashed back to his Father before Wilbur made contact with the Godstone. Don't let him get to you. No matter how loud they scream, no matter how good it feels to give in. Don't.

The voices fought back. IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO! But now, the voices were fighting against two sides. Wilbur blinked. All of them slipped away, the glitched world, Philza, the voices, the soul.

Wilbur found himself at the exact same place, with a loaded bow in his hands, pointed at- Niki? Wilbur dropped everything in a scurried panic and smashed himself into a tree while walking backwards. His heart was pounding a thousand times per second. Niki opened her eyes to Wilbur's awkward state. "I- sorry. I just remembered I had to go..." This, of course, was a lie. Wilbur hastily grabbed his bow and bolted through the trees, not looking back, leaving Niki alone in utter confusion.

Wilbur was never safe anywhere. His quiet spot, the woods, Niki, he thought the voices would never reach there. But they came. There was nowhere to hide.

Tommy had locked himself in his room. Wilbur slammed his door shut and did the same. There was no use trying to run away from the things that haunted him. He might as well face them. Trying to win would be better than freezing up and waiting to die.

Wilbur recalled every single horrible nightmare, the glitched world, the voices. And the world shifted.

The voices screamed. Mother was dead. Wilbur was pointing an arrow at Niki. Tommy was crying. Philza was locked away from his sons. Then Wilbur was running through a forest on a jagged stone path. Someone was chasing him, but Wilbur didn't know who. Then the chaser stopped and laughed. Wilbur immediately recognized the voices. Wilbur forced himself to stop running. His own voice was paralyzed in fear. Wilbur slowly turned around to see the voices, the same evil that was in his dreams, his predictions. Evil's eyes- or what you could call eyes- were staring back at him in glee. "You think you can defeat me?" Wilbur didn't respond, or in other words, he couldn't, with his fear-choked voice.

Evil opened his hands to show he had no weapons. "Come at me." It wasn't a challenge, it was an order. Wilbur's arms were suddenly heavy. He looked down and saw he was given an axe and a sword. Wilbur chose the sword and launched himself into battle. Thirty seconds passed as Wilbur uselessly swung. Everytime Wilbur was sure he would see his sword stab through the black shadow of Evil, he hit the air and Evil vanished. Evil's laugh was echoing everywhere, bouncing off of every particle. "You are nothing against me!"

Wilbur was exhausted. His tired arms dropped the gleaming sword and the weapons disappeared into nothingness.

"I only lurk in your thoughts for now. But one day, I will meet you in my earthly glory. My name?" Evil smiled. "Is Nightmare."
