Cricket woke up, only to discover he had grown wings and a halo.
He looked below him and saw his body, laying on a hospital bed.
"What happened?!" He asked himself.
Then he remembered.
He had stood there, unable to move. He tried to get away, but his body didn't let him.
The blades of Chip's helicopter came closer. And closer.
Then everything went dark, and all he heard was the crying of his family and friends.
And now he was here, staring at himself.
"Did...did I....die..?" He doubtfully said to himself. "No. No, I couldn't have! I-it's okay, I'm j-just having one of those...those...out-of-body experiences! Yeah, that's it!! I'll be back in the real world soon enough!"
And so he waited.
5 minutes later
"Okay...this is taking a longer time than I anticipated..." he said, annoyed. Then he wondered: where are Tilly and Mom and Dad and Gramma? Shouldn't they be here..?
He flew to his house in hopes they'd be there.
Luckily, they were!
He saw all of them in the living room, including Gloria.
"Thanks again for letting me stay with you guys! I really, really appreciate it!" Gloria thankfully said to the Greens.
Bill smiled. "You don't have to keep thanking us, Gloria! It's no big deal."
"Well, I don't mind her thanking us. It's good to know that she's grateful for what we've provided her with!" Alice remarked.
Cricket was really confused now. "Wait, Gloria's staying here? She has her apartm-" but then he remembered. "Oh, right. She lost her job at Big Coffee. And then she got a job working for Chip, but we ruined that for her too. Now I guess she can't pay the rent for her apartment..." He felt guilty now.
"Um...I don't mean to bother you, but...What's Cricket's status at the hospital?" Gloria nervously asked.
Everyone looked at her with the most sorrowful faces they could, and she knew right away what they were signaling to her.
Gloria felt horrible. "O-oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I-I didn't mean to-" but Bill stopped her.
"It's okay, Gloria. We should have let you know."
Cricket gazed down at them, horrified.
"Oh...my....gosh....I-I'm really dead?!" He said in disbelief.
He tried to go down and hug them, but he went right through his family.
"I can't believe this..." he uttered, on the verge of tears.
