The Makaras live out on the coast close by Zahhak Ports.
Ms. Crystal Makara is Kurloz’s and Gamzee’s mom. They don’t have a father figure in their lives because of Mr. Moonsong.
Because of what happened with Mr. Moonsong, Crystal’s father did some strong hoodoo and cursed the Moonsongs.
Pop-pop Makara has only been known as Pop-pop or his spiritual name: The Grand Highblood.
Even though her boys don’t have a father, she does everything in her power to make sure her boys feel loved.
Kurloz was taken up under Pop-pop Makara’s wing to learn his ways. Poor Kurloz has seen some wack shit. This, along with the emotional lack of a father, is the reason why he’s selectively mute.
Gamzee is actually two months older than Meenah.
Gamzee works for The Black Sheep as an undercover surveillance agent for Aradia so she knows how to prepare for Equius’s antics.
Crystal makes the best gumbo in town. On the weekends, she holds a soup kitchen at the Rec Center.
