Chapter nine: unacceptable

Eva's POV:

Bright lights met my eyes when I slowly opened them and I realized that I was in the nurse's office. "Bunny! Thank god! She is awake!", I heard Tina shout while she caressed my cheek. "Tina what...", I lowly breathed out and I noticed that my throat was dry. "Shhh everything is alright. You passed out.", she said and then I saw the nurse walking towards me. She touched my forehead and she sighed in relief.

"You don't have a fever but your body is still very weak. You should rest a little longer.", she said and gave me a glass of water. I instanly drank all of it before I continued to ask questions. "How long have I been knocked out?", I asked and Tina looked down. "For a day.", she said and my eyes widened in shock. That meant that we already had the next day! "No! I have to go to my cheerleader squad...", I mumbled out and wanted to stand up but Tina immediately pushed me back down.

"Don't worry. They know that you don't feel well. You really should rest a little longer.", she said very concerned but I shook my head. "You don't understand, Melissa constanly says that I'm a bad captain. I don't want to give her even more reasons.", I said and tried to get out of Tina's grip but my body was still very weak. "Everyone can get ill bunny. I'm sure they understand. You're not in the right condition to go to them.", she said and I sighed while I laid back down.

The nurse came back with some bread with butter and placed it on my table. "Get some strengh.", she said before she walked away again. I didn't realized until now that I was very hungry and I eagerly started eating. "So... About the reason why you passed out...", Tina hesitantly said and I instanly remembered... Alexa. "What happened Tina? I don't understand...", I said very defeated.

"I don't know much either. First she didn't show up in school and when I tried to call her, she didn't pick up. I thought that she might be sick but then her parents went to the police and they placed posters of her being missing everywhere. The police even came to our school and talked to a few students.", Tina explained. "Did they also talk to you?", I asked and she nodded. "But I wasn't very helpful. I was surprised and shocked like you were.", she said and I looked down.

I couldn't believe this was happening. "There is no way she would just leave everything and everyone behind. Do you think someone took her?", I asked and she bit her lip. "It can be but I really don't know more than you do.", she said and I couldn't hold my tears back any longer. "No... She doesn't deserve this... Who would do something so horrifying?", I sobbed out and Tina instanly pulled me into her arms. "Ohh I know it hurts bunny. I'm worried too but at least we still have each other. I'm here for you and I will always be here.", Tina said and before I could react she suddenly captured my lips in a passionete kiss.

My eyes widened in surprise. It felt weird to be kissed by a friend like that. I instanly pushed her away and looked at her in shock. "Tina what were you doing?", I asked very reproachful and she froze for a second. "I'm sorry I... Just wanted to comfort you.", she said and I shook my head. "You can't just randomly kiss someone in order to comfort them.", I said and wanted to stand up from the bed. After I drank and ate something, I got a little bit stronger.

"No bunny, I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking but please stay here.", she said and grabbed my arm to stop me. "No, I have to talk to Melissa. You told me she knew and I asked her if something happened at home. It's unbelievable that she didn't even tell me about Alexa.", I said. "But you're still very weak.", Tina said very concerned. "I can talk and walk. That's all I need.", I replied and pulled my arm away from her grip.
