Red liquid stained my custom made white dress, as I held the heart of the human in my grip. Her lifeless body slouched on the ground as he stood over it mumbling and muttering before his head snapped to me. His eyes red, brimmed with tears as he stood up, gently placing her head on the floor.
I chuckled, earning a glare from him and I shrugged, "She's dead and dead bitches don't feel pain "
"Why?" His voice was strained, "What did she ever do to you?"
"Nothing." I told him as he approached me like I had expected, he was the moth and I was his flame, he would be drawn to me anyhow. "She did absolutely nothing but you my darling, you did everything." I pointed at her body with the hand I held her heart in, "Her death. That's all on you."
A humourless chuckle escaped his lips, "You're crazy. Delusional. I did nothing to her, you killed her."
"She's crazy?" A voice called out from behind the curtain before I could open my own. I turned my head towards the source of the voice as did the man in front of me, facing the dark haired woman as she entered the room. "She's crazy? Delusional. Really Silas? Her?"
"Scar-"
"Don't." She held her hand up, stopping him in his words. "I don't need to hear it. If anyone's delusional here, it's you."
"Scarlynn you don't understand, she killed Amara." He motioned towards the girl on the ground and Scarlynn's eyes moved towards it, widening slightly before she turned her gaze to me.
"Did you?" My silence gave her the answer as she shook her head, "No, Qetsyia, why -"
"I asked her that and this crazy bitch said it was my fault." Silas interrupted her words but she continued anyway.
"- did you kill this bitch without me?" Scarlynn finished as an uninvited chuckle left my lips.
Curse her for making me laugh.
Silas' eyes dilated as he heard her words. "What -"
She ignored him, turning her eyes back to the dead girl then walking towards the body, "You took her heart out?" She shrugged, "Not like she used it anyways."
"Scarlynn, this bitch is making you crazy with her." His voice snapped, angry she was taking my side over his.
"Crazy is leaving your fiance, who loves you more than herself at the wedding altar. Crazy is using someone then throwing them aside. Crazy is everything about you Silas. You. Are. Crazy." The words left my lips as tears welled in my eyes. No. I couldn't cry in front of the man who destroyed my life. Pushing the tears to the back of my eyes I looked up at him then at the heart in my hand as I squeezed it tightly.
My nails pressed into it leaving my marks and I found myself wishing it was actually Amara's heart but lucky for her, I still had plans for her. Killing her would have been easy, painless but she deserved more pain than she had given me. All this was just for show for the unfaithful man in front of me, watching him squirm as he looked at the dead body of his lover.
"You've already killed her." He stated as he walked towards me. "What do you plan on doing now?"
"Making her the portal to the underworld." I answered honestly but you know what they say about men and their lack of logic. He chuckled humorlessly as he shook his head telling me he didn't believe what I had just told him. I shrugged, his loss.
He remained silent after that, his mind seemed to be elsewhere probably wondering what would happen to him now that his lover was gone. It wasn't until my head started to feel heavy that I realised he wasn't silent for any other reason but to focus on controlling me. He was trying to control me.
My eyes snapped over to Scarlynn who stared down at the body of Amara not noticing what her brother was doing. She looked up at us, her eyes widening as she shook her head, walking towards Silas. Slapping the back of his head he turned around to look at her, freeing me from the control of his powers.
"Power." I whispered, remembering that he had drunk the elixir which made him immortal. Panic surged to my chest and I realized no matter what I did he wouldn't die, I was powerless against him, maybe powerless was a bit of an exaggeration but what harm could I do to him when he was protected by my own spells. Love really did make us blind.
His words from the night I gave him the poison came to my head, where he convinced me that we would take it together and become the first immortals but little did I know he would be sneaking around with my handmaiden. His betrayal hit me deep as I ignored whatever pain I was feeling, replacing it with anger and soon before I knew it, flames engulfed the room with smoke scattering around leaving me coughing at the sudden burst of energy. Unable to take it, I rushed out of the room, leaving my lover's mistress' tent.
I peered inside through an opening to find that the room was empty, not a sign of Silas nor Scarlynn to be seen. What did I do?
Silas P.O.V
Despite what I saw at Amara's tent I knew she had to be okay, she had to be alive. She had taken the immortal exillri with me meaning that there was no way she could have died. Yet the proof shown otherwise. Did Qetsyia know about my plan before? Did she give us the wrong potion?
Mind controlling Qetsyia was a stupid idea but she left me no choice and if it werent for my sister, I would've been successful. Busy arguing with Scarlynn, neither of us noticed Qetsyia growing rage as she pieced together the pieces of my unfaithfulness towards her. A sudden burst of flames spread out around us and as Scarlynn let out a screech I shut my eyes knowing that this was the fate I had been called for.
It felt like hours had passed when I opened my eyes, expecting to find Qetsia beside us but all I saw was darkness. Pitch black. Where was I?
"Silas?" Scarlynns voice called out. "Are you awake?"
"Scar?"
"Thank God, your awake. Where are we?"
"Does it look like I know? That crazy witch is your friend, right? Ask her?" I taunted her but the silence in response to my words told me I had taken it far. "Scar? Scarlynn?"
The faint flicker of light shone as Scarlynn's face came into my line of sight; her eyes drooped and lips pulled into a thin line as she held flames in her bare hands. My eyes moved around where we were trapped and realised there was no way out. I shut my eyes trying to see if I could channel anything to find out our location but nothing, it was a dead end. I dropped my hands down to my pocket, feeling something in there. Pulling out the vial I smiled, in my hands were the cure to immortality. One day or another someone would come searching for it, one day or another someone would find us and free us. Once again I found myself facing my sister with a smile on my face. As she dimmed the fire, a smile etched onto her own features slowly but it wasn't the sort that brought you happiness but the one that gave you fear. The smile of someone who had nothing left to lose, the smile that I recognised from childhood, one that I was very much afraid of.
The smile of havoc.
As all signs of light went off, the smile of my sister remained in front of my eyes: sinister and I realised her smile was nothing less than a threat. Even if we did escape this place, there was no escaping the havoc she would wreck.
She knew that.
And she had maken sure I knew it too.
