The Detective and The Former Affluent Progeny

PROLOGUE - PART 2: The Second Detective

...a tall, dark pastel blue haired boy. ''Hey?'' The boy asked, opening the door wider so Kyoko could see more inside his office. Inside said office Kyoko could see the shadow of what looked like a cap, just sitting there alone on a shelf. ''Hello, I'm Kyoko Kirigiri. Who are you and why are you here?'' Kyoko passive-aggresively asked the boy, folding her hands together and inspecting him. He'd just shown up, and for all she knew nobody else had acknowledged it. She also noticed he had an ahoge, and it was sort of bowy but spiky at the same time. ''Oh,, I'm Shuichi Saihara ..I've heard of you, I think I'm meant to be your partner.''

Shuichi stated, putting up his left hand a bit and looking at Kyoko. The detective looked surprised at this remark: why had no one told her yet? ''I see. Well, do you have an Ultimate?'' Kyoko looked further into his office now, seeing a couple more things. It did sort of remind her of her own office when she looked closely. There was only one window this time, and a bed next to a pastel blue desk that was squinty clean. Shuichi spoke up, reminding Kyoko that this wasn't the time to inspect Shuichi's office yet. ''Yeah, I do. I'm The Ultimate Detective. Although, I don't think I honestly deserve that title.. I just solved one case randomly and then people just...sort of declared me The Ultimate Detective.''

His eyes looked away from Kyoko at that remark, as if he were ashamed to share that. Kyoko, on the other hand, was intrigued. Although she *did* know it was possible to share talents, she hadn't experienced her self untill this interaction. She made her long hair adjust more, inspecting Shuichi even more closely whilst speaking. ''I'm The Ultimate Detective aswell. Maybe that's why we were declared partners?'' She watched Shuichi nod in agreement as he walked into his office and invited her in. Kyoko stepped into his office, taking a much better look at everything in possesion of it. It looked newly clean, with polished, black walls lining up the sides of it.
 Decorated on the very top of his office were two small lamps, the only ones illumating all the light inside. She walked over to his desk, studying the bed next to it. There was a blanket covering the rest of the bed, so Kyoko picked it up with a stern expression as always. Moving on, she slowly went over to the shelf and started taking out a few things to get a quick look at them. When she'd gone through most standard things, she took the cap on the shelf before noticing Shuichi's voice.

''Oh, please don't take that.'' He quickly said, half-walking over to the shelf next to Kyoko and getting the cap back. Kyoko's head turned to face him, peeking at the cap he'd just now taken out of her palm. ''Why did you want it back?'' She continued looking at the cap as if it were some prize she needed to collect, then turned her head up face to face with Shuichi. He seemed to look a little nervous while holding the cap, looking right back at her. ''I don't like other people touching my things.'' He replied, walking a few steps to the left and putting the cap back where it originally was. ''Understandable.'' Kyoko stepped away from the shelf, coming to the conclusion that Shuichi wasn't as suspicious as she thought he was. She felt her feet walking toward the only window in the room, and looking out from it.

 From what she could see outside, there was a road with a bunch of cars all driving together in one big bundle. There were also naturally streetlights, and other buildings on the side of the street. It was actually pretty useless to just be staring outside, so Kyoko walked to the door of the office and spoke to Shuichi. ''I'll be going now, goodbye.'' As soon as those words were spoken, the detective left Shuichi's office as stated. As soon as she stepped out in the hallway, atleast three police officers walked quickly down it, disappearing fast out of view. Kyoko normally walked along the hall, headed for own office to presumeably look at more papers as always. What she didn't know was that soon, she'd have to face a very unexpected case with a familiar face, with the assistance of Shuichi ...
