As I slowly came back into consciousness, I noticed I was strapped to a table. My friends and brother were nowhere in sight and I started to panic.
“Now, now. There’s no need to panic.” I heard a voice say. I looked to my right and saw a man with a ponytail and a lab coat. “My name is Dr. Desmond, and you are quite special young lady.”
“I’m not special. Just a gal who’s very pissed off.” I replied.
He laughed, “You have no idea, do you? Oh, your mother would be so disappointed Lorelei.” At that statement I froze. How did he know my mom?
“How the hell do you know who I am?!” I demanded.
“If only you knew.” He looked towards a table with a whole bunch of different medical instruments on it. I started to struggle. “Stop struggling. It’ll only make the pain worse.” He took a syringe with some sort of blue liquid in it off of the table.
“What’s that?” I asked. He didn’t answer. He rolled the sleeves of my jacket up and injected me with the mysterious blue liquid; I screamed in pain. It burned as it flowed through my system. As the pain started to fade, he injected another one into me, and I screamed again. “W-What have you done t-to my f-friends?”
“Don’t worry. They’re safe and sound in their little pods, having their DNA extracted from them.” I looked at him horrified. “It’s a very painful process, but not as painful as what I’m about to do to you.”
He took a scalpel off of the table and made a long cut from my elbow down to my wrist on both arms, I screamed in agony as he did so. He started to leave little cuts on my abdomen and chest, enjoying my pained face as he made every cut. Eventually he stopped and turned towards the door. “I’d love to keep this up, but I have other patients to attend to.”
As soon as the door closed, I blacked out from the pain.

“Blue! Blue, wake up!” I heard someone faintly yell as I drifted back into consciousness. As I lazily opened my eyes, I noticed Dick standing over me with a worried look on his face. His worried looked turned into one of relief as he saw me opening my eyes. As I looked around, I noticed that everyone was there, including Superboy.
“Take it easy. Whatever Dr. Desmond did to you, you’re too weak to stand and walk on your own.” Kaldur said as Dick took my restraints off.
“I-I’m f-fine guys, really.” I replied as I got off of the table and tried to stand. I failed miserably and collapsed, but luckily Dick caught me.
“No you’re not. You need medical attention, and fast.” He looked up at Superboy as he wrapped bandages around the long cuts on my arms. “Superboy, can you carry her?”
He nodded and walked over to me cautiously. He put his left hand behind my back and his right behind my knees, carrying me bridal style. We started making our way down the corridor when Kaldur said, “We are still 42 levels below ground. But if we can make it to the elevator—”
He was cut off by a bunch of the giant genomorphs blocking our path. We looked around to see every little pod thing holding the genomorphs were glowing red and busting open. I gathered enough strength to crawl out of Superboy’s arms and use my cry to get the giant genomorphs out of the way. I collapsed back into his arms and we made our way to the elevator. Kaldur pried the doors open and noticed the elevator was gone. Dick used his grappling gun to get up, Wally took me from Superboy’s arms and ran up the wall, and Superboy grabbed Kaldur and jumped up. Suddenly they started to fall.
“I’m falling.” Superboy said. Dick threw a batarang and Kaldur grabbed it so they wouldn’t fall any further. Wally and Dick helped them up onto the ledge we were on and Superboy said, “Superman can fly. Why can’t I?”
“Don’t know, but it looks like you can leap tall buildings in a single bound.” Wally said trying to cheer him up. “Still cool.”
“Guys, this’ll have to be our exit.” Dick said as he saw the elevator about to come down on us. Superboy punched the door down and we all made it inside before the elevator crushed us. He picked me up bridal style again as we looked down the hallway and saw more genomorphs headed towards us. We turned down a hallway to our left to try and escape, the genomorphs. Suddenly Superboy started shouting directions.
“Go left.” He said. “Left.” We turned left. “Right.” We turned right and ended up at a dead end.
“Great directions Supey.” Wally said. “Are you trying to get us re-podded?”
“No, I-I don’t understand.” He responded.
“Don’t apologize. This is perfect.” Dick said. He opened the vent cover and we all climbed inside. Superboy helped me inside and we made our way through the vents. I was struggling a little bit to keep up, but Superboy stayed close to help me as Dick led the way.
As we crawled, Wally said, “Great. At this rate we’ll never get out.”
“Shh.” Superboy said suddenly, making us stop. “Listen.”
As we listened we heard the genomorphs coming for us. We moved quickly through the vents until we climbed out next to the exit door. Dick hacked the motion sensors.
“I hacked the motion sensors.” Dick said.
“Great. Now I finally have room to move.” Wally said as he slipped on his goggles and ran up the stairs. Superboy helped me stand.
“Can you walk?” He asked.
“Yeah. My adrenaline will keep me going for a while. Thanks.” I replied. He nodded and the rest of us followed Wally up the stairs, though not quite as fast.
“More behind us!” Dick said and Superboy stopped. He slammed his foot on the ground and made the staircase collapse. As we continued our trek up the stairs and to the street level, we got cut off by Guardian. What he did next surprised us.
“Go. Get Blue Sparrow medical attention. I’ll deal with Desmond.” He said.
“I think not.” Dr. Desmond said as he appeared behind Guardian. Great.
