“Project Blockbuster will give me the power to restore order to Cadmus.” Dr. Desmond said as he injected himself with a serum, turning into a giant, gray, ugly creature.

“Everyone back!” Guardian said and him and Desmond began to fight. At some point they broke through the ceiling, giving us access to the street level.

“Okay. That’s one way to bust through the ceiling.” Dick said as we made our way up.

“You think lab coat planned that?” Wally asked.

“I doubt he’s planning anything anymore.” I replied. Suddenly Dr. Desmond started advancing towards us. We quickly came up with a plan to lead him over to the puddle of water to electrocute him, then take out the support beams and bring the roof down on him. The others fought to push him back and I used my cry to get him into position, giving Kaldur the chance to shock him. Superboy took out the last support beam and brought the ceiling down onto him, and him and Kaldur covered us to make sure we didn’t get crushed by cement.

“We did it.” Kaldur said. At this point the adrenaline was wearing off and I was fighting to stay awake. I fell onto my hands and knees from how weak I was and they boys rushed over to me.

“We’ll get you out of here Blue.” I heard Dick say. My vision was starting to get blurry. I felt a strong pair of arms wrap around me and lift me off of the ground; I looked up and through my blurred vision I could tell it was Kaldur. He stood up and we saw all of the heroes waiting for us. They didn’t look too happy from what I could see.

“Blue! Oh my God!” I heard Dinah exclaim. “What happened to her?”

“A man by the name of Dr. Desmond did this to her. We don’t know exactly what happened.” Kaldur answered.

“We’ll take her to Star City General immediately.” Ollie said. He took me from Kaldur’s arms and put me in the back of a car. The last thing I heard before I lost consciousness again was, “Contact Roy. He needs to know about this.”

Beep…Beep…

As I slowly regained consciousness I heard an annoying beeping sound. As my ears adjusted I could make out that it was a heart monitor. I slowly opened my eyes and realized I was in a hospital room. I tried to sit up but regretted it as soon as I felt a sharp pain in my chest and abdomen. I groaned and slowly laid back down.

“You’re awake! Thank God!” I heard a voice next to me say as they engulfed me into a hug. When they pulled away I realized it was Dinah.

“Where am I?” I asked hoarsely.

“You’re at Star City General Hospital. You and your team went on a mission, against our direct orders, and you came out covered in awful cuts.” She explained as she tried to hold back her tears. “I thought you were dead when I first saw you.”

“I’m sorry. I know we shouldn’t have gone, but I guess we were just trying to prove ourselves.” I said looking down in shame. I looked around the room and noticed Ollie wasn’t here. “Where’s Ollie?”

“He’s just outside trying to get ahold of Roy. He deserves to know what happened to you.” She explained and I nodded.

“What about the others? Are they okay? Is Dick okay?” I started spewing out questions as they entered my mind.

“Woah! Slow down, Hun. The others are fine; your brother is fine. They’re just worried about you.” She answered. Suddenly Ollie walked into the room and noticed I was awake. He rushed to my side and hugged me, careful of my wounds.

“Thank God you’re alright, kid.” He said as he released me from the hug.

“I’m fine. Have you gotten ahold of Roy yet?” I asked, hoping he did. He shook his head no.

“I’ve been trying for the past few hours, kid. Nothing.” He replied. To which I nodded sadly. Suddenly Ollie’s phone rang; he looked at the caller ID and sighed. “It’s Bruce.” He answered the call and stepped outside.

Dinah turned towards me. “You should get some rest Lorelei. You need it.”

I nodded and laid back down falling asleep rather quickly.

As I slowly woke up I heard people talking around me. It was my team, but there was one voice that I didn’t recognize. My eyes fluttered open and I saw everyone in their civvies; Dick had his shades on of course.

“Hey guys.” I smiled, causing them to cease their talking and look at me.

“Hey.” Dick replied. “How do you feel?”

“I’ve been better, but I’m alive.” I said and he chuckled.

“Leave it to you to make fun out of a horrible situation.” He said.

“Well, someone has to lighten the mood.” I said. I reached my arms out towards him and hugged him. He gladly returned it and I could tell this had been har on him.

“I thought I lost you.” He whispered, trying to hold back his tears.

I hugged him tighter. “I know. I thought I lost you too. When Desmond told me what he was doing to you guys I-I panicked. I was so afraid that I had lost you.” I slowly released him and looked towards the others. “That I had lost all of you.”

“We’re all here now. That’s what matters.” Kaldur said. We all nodded in agreement.

“Besides, there’s no telling where we’d be now if it wasn’t for you, our leader.” Wally said.

“L-Leader?” I asked in total shock.

“Yeah. You led us through Cadmus when it got tough. You’re a natural born leader.” Dick said, causing me to lightly smile.

“Well it seems I missed a lot in my absence.” I said as I looked towards the new girl. “I’m Blue Sparrow; everyone calls me Blue. My real name is Lorelei.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you! I’m Miss Martian, but you can call me M’Gann.” She replied cheerfully.

“Welcome to the team Miss M.” I told her. Suddenly the door swung open to reveal someone I didn’t expect to see.
