"You want to what?" I asked incredulously while I stopped savoring the sweet and salty taste of the steak in my mouth.
My little dragon bro in his makeshift chair pouted and tried to reach out to me with his paws as my parents looked at both of us with amusement.
Ever since we returned back from the forest, mom and dad already prepared lunch for all of us. There on top of the wooden table lays an assortment of food you might found in an every Sunday backyard grilling.
From grilled hotdogs to veggie patties, mother paid no expense and went all put on this particular outing since today may be the last day we could spend each other as a happy family, and there is a reason why I said that.
Father got promoted to head of the CEO in his business company and will be travelling overseas for a few months, leaving only just my mother to take care of us, plus there's also the fact that mother had her teaching career so taking care of us might be a little problem.
Well, not everything is bad though. As long as I am with my cute dragon brother, life couldn't be any better. Although, that is if someone has the patience to take care of a volatile beast.
"Mom! Dad! Big bro won't let me cuddle him! I am in need of more cuddles!" Knighty whined while sitting right next too me. I put my free hand in his head scratched it, electing a purr of pleasure from him as he leaned sideward towards me.
"Knighty honey... Your big brother is still eating. You guys can cuddle later after lunch ok?" My mother said as she leaned her head towards my father's shoulder in the most unromantic way that my mind could not comprehend.
Knighty pouted but obeyed. In turn, he decided to lay beside me and eat his share of hot dogs. He... he is so cute.
"By the way," Knighty said with a mouthful of hotdogs. "Mom, Dad, can I ask you guys something?" Knighty looked down while fiddling with his half eaten hotdog with his claws as mom and dad looked at my dragon with loving expressions.
"Sure thing honey, what is it?" My mom asked as she reached out for another hotdog in the table.
"Am I the only dragon in this world?"
His words pierced through our hearts like a knife slicing effortlessly through a butter.
Knighty saw through our expressions and dropped his head, looking very sad. "I'll take that as a yes then...."
For some reason, I suddenly have lost my appetite to eat. Gosh darn it, I can't eat now when my little dragon is sad! This is so heart wrenching!
Lifting Knighty up which earned me a 'yelp' from him, I placed him in my lap and hugged him tight. His warm body heating up every fibre of my being as I try to cheer him up.
" Hey, don't worry about the for now, okay Knighty? " I soothingly said as Knighty looked at me with those sweet, innocent eyes.
"I promise you, we'll meet more dragons and then we'll find your dragon parents, ok?" I reassured him as Knighty nodded.
Still feeling a little bit guilty, my mother and father said some kind words to him about being a good member of the family and how their lives were able to get exciting with him around. They also added the part that they loved him no matter what and they treated him as their own.
That lifted Knight's spirit though so in turn, he started to ask some questions of his origin and how he managed to squeeze in on this human family.
Well, my parents looked at me when. Knighty asked this particular question. Traitors.
For now, I just told Knighty that it would be best if we eat our food first before it gets cold. Cold hotdogs are terrible anyway.

"So it has finally begun." A bright blue dragon dressed in an odd manner with a lantern necklace said as he leveitated the book towards it proper pedestal as he sighed.
The blue dragon, formerly known as Ignitus, the Fire Guardian now Chronicler of the new dragon age, walked towards the giant hourglass in the room and looked at the tiny falling sands.
" I do hope those two have strong bonds as siblings..." Ignitus said as he looked at the book that he recently returned it.
" They will be tested for the upcoming days that will befall them..."
