After the events that happened in the forest, me and the hatchling tried to find a way out of here. Although, I got a feeling that we hadn't gain any progress since we saw the same rock that we have passed by for like three times now.
"Ugh, this is getting us nowhere." I said to no one in particular. Of course, since no one was here, the baby dragon thought that I was talking to him, so in return, he just looked at me with his adorable eyes filled with wonder.
I supressed myself from 'dawwing'. This dragon can be really cute from time to time, and I don't think he even does it on purpose. Still....
"We need to find a way out of this forest, ASAP." I looked at the dragon beside where a butterfly landed in its snout. I find it cute To be honest when suddenly more butterflies seemed to appear out of nowhere and started to cover the baby dragon who just giggled and rolls over.
I stood the, mouth wide at the weirdest scene I had experienced. And here I thought that a few minutes ago was the most weirdest moments in my life. Guess I was wrong.
The baby dragon sneezed when a monarch butterfly landed in his snout. He stared at the butterfly cross eyes when it didn't leave his snout. It then try to swipe it away but the butterfly easily dodges it and always landed back.
I smiled at the cute scene I am witnessing right now. I guess I had to expect some weird things sooner or later if I am to take care of this baby dragon.

I swallowed a bit of saliva as I set off running. Slamming my feet against the grass, I gripped the baby dragon's body tighter as I heard the wolves howling nearby.
'Oh you've gotta be kidding me.' I thought as I stopped running when I realised that I ran straight towards the edge of a cliff, there I can hear the roars of a raging river below me. I panted as I set the baby dragon down and I let out a small groan. I blinked down at the dragon who is looking back at me as if silently asking me with his eyes 'why did you put me down?'.
I then heard something rustling in the bush and the sound of low snarling. I froze before I spun around and seen three wolves standing in front of me.
'Oh great..' I swallowed as I grab the baby dragon who was about to reach out to a particular wolf who's ears are flat on his head when it saw the dragon. I took a step back when I heard him growl and I reached down, picking up a rock and I held it threateningly up.
One of the wolves leapt at me, barely slicing me with its sharp claws in the face while I hit him back with the rock, making him whine and stagger back a bit while all the wolves growled angrier. Suddenly, the hatchling made a sound that is a mixture of purring and growling, his tail was wagging.
'What the?' I thought and then he let out a very loud, ear-piercing roar. I cringed, never letting go of the baby dragon in my grip before I took a step back and my shoe caught against the edge of the small cliff, just above the rushing river. I gasped and I tried to step back up when one of the wolves snapped it's jaws, barely biting the dragon which made him stop roaring, then I found ourselves falling.
The entire world seems to go in slow motion as my grip weakened, letting go of the baby dragon as it tried to reach out to me but failed. I opened my mouth to scream at it when I plunged straight into the bone-chilling, freezing cold, fast-moving river. My vision blurred a bit as I tried to swim up but then I couldn't hold on for long and instead, I continued to sink deeper. Before I could let out a single thought, a really bright light enveloped my vision, then I could feel something grabbing the collar of my shirt before I let out the air I was holding in before blacking out.

"Ra! Ragh ro! Ra!"
I heard -more like felt- something nudging my face as I tried to push away whatever it is that is disturbing my beauty sleep.
