Chapter 9 (Anaya)

Zaryab informed his family about Anaya and invited her to an engagement party to help her get acquainted with everyone. He hasn't figured out how to tell Mehmal that he's afraid of losing her, but he cannot afford to lose Anaya after searching for her for so many years.

Though Zaryab initially tried to avoid Anaya, he couldn't let her go when she was about to leave him. He told her he wouldn't leave Mehmal, as they work together at the same company. He divided his time, spending weekends with Mehmal to avoid being unfair to her. Anaya has realized that Zaryab is scared of losing Mehmal.

Zaryab's parents initially objected and took a week to be convinced after he threatened to leave everything behind and run away with Anaya. They asked about Mehmal and whether he would leave her. Zaryab hesitated, saying, "I will not leave her. I will keep Mehmal with me." His parents agreed, but his mother warned him that if he left Mehmal, she would never forgive him.

Zaryab is afraid of losing Mehmal and hasn't shared this fear with Anaya. If Mehmal were to leave him, he would choose her over Anaya, sacrificing his love for Anaya. He feels he cannot live without Mehmal and is determined to keep her with him, fearing what might happen if she leaves or if their uncle takes her. Zaryab has become obsessed and cannot let Mehmal go.

He approached Mehmal, embraced her from behind, and said, "You look gorgeous, and these earrings were made for you," while kissing her shoulder. He held her close, knowing she would be devastated, but he struggled to reconcile his feelings for both Anaya and Mehmal.

Zaryab remembered proposing to Anaya in Dubai, presenting her with a ring she had chosen. When he proposed, Anaya asked about Mehmal. Zaryab told her that if she thought he would leave Mehmal, they shouldn't continue their relationship. Anaya insisted that it didn't matter—what mattered was their love.

Zaryab didn't reveal that his feelings for Mehmal were complex and went beyond love. He felt deep guilt and attachment towards Mehmal, knowing that marrying Anaya would be unfair to her. Although Anaya was ready to leave, he couldn't let her go. He was allowed multiple marriages and intended to treat Mehmal as a wife without making her feel inferior, but Anaya had to accept that she had no other choice.

Anaya promised to win Mehmal's heart, which made Zaryab smile, but he worried about Mehmal's feelings. During their trip, he bought Anaya a simple ring, but he also liked a necklace for Mehmal. He didn't mention it to Anaya to avoid spoiling her mood.

When Anaya saw the open suitcase with gifts for Mehmal, she realized their significance. Heartbroken, she understood that Mehmal held a special place in Zaryab's life and left in tears.

Later, Zaryab went shopping for Mehmal, buying her a necklace, earrings, and dresses while on a video call with her to ensure she liked everything. Despite his aunts' criticisms of Mehmal's clothing choices, Zaryab supported her preferences.

At the hotel, while Zaryab was in the shower, Anaya found the suitcase with gifts for Mehmal. She understood the situation and left, feeling devastated. She realized that despite Zaryab's assurances, Mehmal was crucial in his life.

Zaryab tried to balance his responsibilities. He loved Anaya but knew he had duties towards Mehmal as well. He cherished both women but struggled with the complexity of the situation.

Later, Zaryab and Mehmal enjoyed a quiet evening. He surprised her with the necklace and earrings, expressing his love and admiration. Despite receiving a message from Anaya, Zaryab focused on Mehmal, understanding the importance of being present for both women.

As their anniversary approached, Zaryab and Mehmal prepared for Mujtaba and Sana's engagement party. He introduced Mehmal to everyone and made it clear that her status would remain higher due to her role as both a wife and cousin.
