Anaya's presence was disturbing him. He was with Mehmal on a trip with his family when his company hired her. When they saw each other, smiles automatically appeared on their faces. They met each other casually.

He hadn't disclosed his marriage to her, and she hadn't asked. If she had, he would have told her.

At a party, he didn't take Mehmal. Perhaps spending time with Anaya reminded him of chasing her during school.

When he came home, Mehmal was already asleep. He felt guilty about what he was doing and decided he should stop. He changed, joined her in bed, and slept close to her, unwilling to hurt her with the truth about Anaya since nothing was between them.

In the morning, Mehmal was already awake. He saw it was still early for the office and thought to sleep more, but when he reached for Mehmal, she wasn't there. He assumed she was in the washroom, but she didn't return. He felt uneasy and quickly checked the washroom and other rooms, but she was nowhere to be found.

"Mehmal! Mehmal!" he called out. No answer.

"Mano..." he panicked and dialed her number. She didn't pick up. "Where has she gone?" He searched the house again but found nothing. Sweat beaded on his forehead. Had she left him? He started crying, "Mano, you promised..."

"Zaryab... Zaryab," Mehmal shook him awake. He sat up, sweating. It was summer.

Mehmal handed him water and a tissue. He cleaned his face. She didn't ask; she knew he'd had a bad dream.

"Are you okay now?" Mehmal asked. He nodded. It had only been an hour since he'd fallen asleep.

Zaryab turned to her and held her close. "Was it that bad?" she asked. He buried his head in her chest, hugging her tightly.

"No way I'm going to lose her," he thought.

Mehmal ran her fingers through his hair, comforting him, and chuckled. "I'm here, Zaryab, not going anywhere."

"Did I die in your dream?" she teased.

He lifted his head and glared at her angrily. "Don't say that again."

"Sorry, I was just trying to cheer you up," she said. He rested his head on her chest again, asking her to continue what she was doing.

After a while, he murmured, "Don't leave me." She giggled, then stopped, hearing him laugh.

"Now you're laughing?" she said.

"I laughed because you tried to hold back your laugh," he said, making her laugh hard.

Zaryab watched her for a moment. "Why do you blush? You awaken something in me," he said, making her cheeks turn redder. "Oh God, why are you so beautiful? How did I get such a gift?" He kissed her cheeks.

"Zaryab, you just had a bad dream, and you have work. Leave this for the weekend," she said.

He narrowed his eyes. "Are you denying your husband? Angels will curse you," he joked.

"Don't play the religious card, okay? And angels know you. Don't bring religion into everything," she retorted, and he laughed.
