Season 1 Episode 9 - Panic at the dance

Blake has just exited Ozpin's office when she had to let out her thoughts. She would be lying if she expected Ozpin to believe her and already know her story. It went better than what she ever expected. But why ozpin did not tell her? And why did he gave her and Team RWBY a mission!? She will probably never know. Then came Ruby in her mind: Ruby was about to be discharged... 

Blake should pay her team leader a visit. The faunus, while still uncomfortable after the talk with Beacon's headmaster, remembers Ruby's words that if she needed any help, she can ask her. So why not do that? When Blake enters, she notices Ruby playing at Ultimate Ninja 2 on her scroll.

Ruby: Hey, Blake!

The Team Leader replies, waving at her friend after pausing her game.

Blake: Ruby! ...How are you feeling?

Ruby: Oh, you know.

She replies with a big smile on her face before eyeing her scroll and looking back at Blake.

Ruby: Studying.

Blake: Study? You never study.

Ruby: THAT WAS THE JOKE!

She exclaims to Blake in a cute yet angry manner before returning immediately back with a cute smile and soon bombarding her with questions.

Ruby: So how has it been with the others? Yang and Weiss are not going too crazy? The dorm is fine? My books are good?

Blake: Y... Yeah, things are alright... Are you okay?

Ruby: I am, but it kind of sucks to stay in the hospital like that. Doctors told me that aura, even if effective, won't heal big gashes like the ones I had. I would have been able to make a cake and tease Weiss with it or prepare myself for the dance, but I guess I only have myself to blame on my current state.

The red huntress only lets out a shrug, before looking back at Blake. It was as if she was not even bothered about that injury in the first place.

Blake: ...Ruby? Are you... trying to brush off what happened out there?

Ruby looks over her friend and sighs, looking deadpanned a bit before being honest, catching Blake off guard a little bit.

Ruby: Blake, I ain't.

She says before closing her scroll, and laying down on her bed.

Ruby: I am just happy that no one else is hurt and things went well at the end of the day.

Blake watched Ruby lay back down.

Blake: Ruby, me, Weiss, and Yang appreciate your concern, but what about you? Aren't you concerned for what you're doing to yourself?

She replies with a smile, looking back at Blake.

Ruby: Duh, of course I am a little bit. I am just doing my bit as Team leader.

She raises her shoulders, kind of reassuring Blake the best she could.

Blake: You... want me to stay here or...?

Ruby: You can stay, yeah.

She answers, accepting Blake's company before something came in mind of the cat Faunus. She does not have a dress for the dance!

Blake: ...Wait. Oh no!

Ruby: What is it?

Blake: I don't have anything for the dance coming up!

Ruby raises an eyebrow, puzzled.

Ruby: ... That is what you are worried about?

Blake: Ruby, you don't understand! Events like these are supposed to be treated as important to us as students!
