Astoria woke up to a knock on her door. She didn't need to ask, it was Draco Malfoy. She opened the door casually, then pulled the robe around her a little tighter. She knew he wouldn't force himself on her or anything, but it always made her uncomfortable when guys checked her out. She always felt like she was losing something.
"Oh, so you're letting me in?" he asked sarcastically, with a smirk, as he entered her room.
"Only because you promised to take me to Montmartre" she shrugged. He was already dressed for the day, wearing a pair of light colored loose fitted linen slacks and a thin sweater. It was already noon.
"That I did" he agreed, with a smirk, before pulling a delicately gift wrapped box out to her.
"What's this?" she asked, curious.
"An apology gift" he explained.
"What is it?" she asked, examining the beautiful ribbon.
"Open it and you'll know" he shrugged, excited to see her reaction. He watched her as she gently tugged open the box and neatly peel open the paper. She opened the box to find a pair of wide framed dark sunglasses. She raised an eyebrow at him questioningly. "Thought it'd help with keeping you in disguise" he explained. She couldn't help but to smile at the thoughtfulness.
"When did you have time to get these?" she asked, trying them on. They matched her face shape well, he seemed to know exactly what would look good on her.
"This morning" he shrugged, slumping down into the couch. She was again covered in that stupid bathrobe. He cursed the hotel for supplying them.
"I love it" she finally allowed herself to admit, "thank you for the thoughtful gesture" she added sincerely.
"But you're still annoyed at me" he laughed, knowing she was just being courteous.
"Definitely" she laughed too, rolling her eyes. She disappeared into the bedroom area to get ready for the day. Draco sat waiting flipping through the magazine that was on the coffee table while he did so.
She rummaged through the clothes Draco had gotten her, way more than necessary for a short trip, and decided to wear a pair of light washed jeans, a ribbed knitted tank top, and a blazer, paired with her own gold hoop earrings. She put her hair in a low bun and wore a bucket hat and the shades Draco had so sweetly gotten her.
He first took her to lunch. Again, he remembered to pick a restaurant that was Plant-Based. Astoria was surprised that he didn't complain to eat a meal that had no meat, although he did question a few of the items, such as tempeh. Part of Astoria's bloodline was mixed with many strong wizarding families throughout Asia, and so she was familiar with many of the vegan foods even before she went Vegan. Draco on the other hand came from a very western bloodline and so many of the flavors were quite new to him. But he didn't complain, in fact, though he didn't admit it, Astoria had a feeling he enjoyed the meal.
After lunch, he took her first he took her for a coffee, then they headed to the beautiful hill town Montmartre. He followed Astoria as she explored, pulling out his camera to occasionally take photos of her.
"I didn't know you were into photography" she says, when they stopped to look at a little shop selling herbs.
"There are a lot of things you don't know about me" he shrugs, snapping another photo as she smelled one of the bottles.
"I guess that's true" she simply agreed.
Astoria wasn't the typical type of girl Draco hung around. Normally if he were out shopping with a girl, she'd be finding ways to have him buy her things. Astoria, on the other hand simply seemed to enjoy just seeing things and didn't want anything, despite his offers. Perhaps its because she obviously didn't need any of them, or perhaps it was because quite evidently, Astoria Greengrass didn't need a man to offered whatever she wanted, even if Astrid Grey lived so simply.
