For the first time since the war ended, Draco felt nervous. Wednesday had arrived both slowly and too quickly. He was excited he would be seeing his new... friend... again, but he was also suddenly feeling uneasy to show her the hotel.

He had worked very hard, been a part of every decision in the renovations, this hotel was his baby, and suddenly he was afraid Astoria wouldn't be as impressed by it as he wanted.

He was clearly on edge, even his father noticed and told him to stop making the awful scrapping sound with his work that he hadn't even noticed he was doing.

When it was about time to leave, Draco changed his clothes three times. What the fuck is wrong with me. He thought annoyed. He was going to a construction site, not a fucking ball.

Astoria woke up with a smile. She was excited that Wednesday had finally come. Work had been exhausting, they were busier than ever, which she was happy about cause it meant that a plant-based diet was catching on, but it also meant she had been overworked the last week.

She decided to wear something simple. Just a t-shirt dress and some heeled boots. She put her hair in a high ponytail and headed off for breakfast.

Draco had owled with an address and to meet at one. She apparated there to find he was already outside waiting for her.

The outside of the hotel was still under construction, so it was covered with a blue misty spell to hide from the public what they were working on.

Draco handed her a hard hat, he already had one on himself. He was wearing a black t-shirt and some dark washed jeans. It was the most casual Astoria had seen him in her life. Even as a kid, he always wore things that were very adult. That's just the type of person he was.

"How have you been?" he asked, looking at her face, she looked thinner than when he had last seen her.

"Great, tired, but great" she replied, following him into the hotel.

"You look like shit, is that guy overworking you?" he demanded, protectively.

"Gee, thanks Draco" she said sarcastically.

"I just mean you look tired and you've lost weight" he explained.

"We've been busy, but I'm glad of it" she shrugged.

"I still think you're too good to be a waitress" he sighed.

"It's a perfectly respectable job" she argued.

"For a commoner" he shrugged.

"That's who Astrid Grey is" she said flatly.

"Whatever" he sighed, knowing there was no point in arguing. Besides he wanted to show her around.

By the time the toured the entire first floor, Astoria was clearly impressed. Draco felt a lot more at ease. She even noticed certain details he didn't expect people to see, ones that he had put many hours of thought into, this made him happy.

"You've really created something amazing Draco" she said, as she looked up at the beautiful lighting fixture that hung above the grand staircase that led to the terrace for outdoor enjoyment.

"Thank you" Draco said, meaning it. His parents were far less enthusiastic. While he could tell they were proud of him, they didn't exactly show any signs of being impressed. In fact, his father just said that he was glad it was somewhere he wouldn't feel ashamed to have their family name attached to and didn't even bother to see the rooms before leaving.

"So can we see the rooms?" asked Astoria, as if reading his mind.

"You want to go to a room with me?" Draco teased, smirking.
