The weirdest part about Astoria Greengrass and Draco Malfoy being together to Daphne was how she never expected it to happen. Marcus Flint on the other hand claimed he saw it coming. "So what about Pansy Parkinson?" asked Daphne, sitting alone one night in her room with her boyfriend.

"What about her?" asked Marcus, laying down and pulling the covers over him in case Daphne's parents decided to barge in again, he didn't want to be completely butt naked again.

"Why did he date her if he didn't love her?" asked Daphne. Pansy, despite her reputation, was Daphne's friend, so while her sister's happiness was important to her too, she did feel bad for Pansy.

"I don't think that's really fair to say" shrugged Marcus.

"Why not? Or are you just team Dratoria?" joked Daphne.

"I'm definitely team Dratoria, Pansy is annoying to hang around, but speaking completely unbiased, Pansy is only in love with Draco because he's Draco Malfoy. If the Malfoy's were to lose their fortune tomorrow do you think she'd really stick around?" asked Marcus.

Daphne pulled on her robe and tied it as she thought about his question. He has a point. "I'd love you even if you lost all your fortune" Daphne replied, smiling at her boyfriend. He smiled, showing his crooked teeth which Daphne used to hate but grown to love.

"Awe, babe!" chuckled Marcus.

Over a few rooms down was Draco alone in Astoria's room, waiting for her return. It was nearly midnight and he was starting to worry. Her assistant had informed him that Astoria left the office at around five in the afternoon. Daphne said she had been home all day and Astoria had not returned home today. They had made plans to visit a unicorn sanctuary tomorrow, therefore Draco had agreed to sleep over at the Greengrass Estate. When he left the office, it was already late, he was worried he'd wake Astoria, but now he found that she wasn't even home yet.

Draco was pacing the floor around Astoria's room when he heard a crack then a thump from the back garden. He snatched his wand up ran to the balcony. Astoria was laying on top of the fallen autumn leaves. Draco inhaled a sharp breath. He gripped his wand tightly and used it to propel him into the air and down to the terrace, then again propel him down to the garden. He landed softly on the grass, and ran straight to where she was. He brought his hand to her nose and sighed in relief, she was still breathing. He gently pulled open her cloak and clenched his jaw. She was covered in blood and had what looked to be spikes from a dragon sticking into her.

He was crouching low observing her wounds when suddenly Astoria gasped and sat up, eyes opening wide. "Woah! Easy there hon" Draco said gently, holding her shoulder up to keep her from falling back down and hitting her head.

"Can you get me to my room?" Astoria asked in a weak voice.

"Are you sure you don't want me to heal you out here?" he asked.

"No, I need to get to my room first" Astoria muttered, slowly losing consciousness again.

Draco quickly swooped her up into his arms without another question. Although he'd been here a few times, it was different in the dark, and he did his best to make sure he went down the right hallway to get to the stairs closest to Astoria's room. To his relief he chose the right one on the first try. When he got to her room, he quickly put her down on her bed. Astoria's eyes were open but small in a sort of intense squint to keep herself conscious.

"Draco, I need you to take these out of me and place them into that jar on my coffee table" she says, without looking up at him.

"If I pull them out of you, you'll die" Draco objected.
