There was a loud crash.
Eclipse jumped to her paws, growling, and her throat heating up as she got ready to defend her friends and family from whatever made that sound.
The door slowly creaked open, and Empress Cinnabar stepped into the room.
Eclipse still felt defensive even though it was just the Empress for some reason.
"Sorry about that." Empress Cinnabar dipped her head seemingly meekly. "I had ordered one of my cooks to come bring you food, but he dropped it and made a huge mess. We'll just grab food at the palaces."
She led everyone outside of her castle to where Pacree Stream and Earth were already waiting. Then they waited in the same spot until Pacree Hail shuffled sleepily out of the castle doors.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." Alpha BlueFog of Pacree Hail dipped his head politely. "We usually don't wake up this early. We mean no disrespect."
"It's alright," Empress Cinnabar was practically bouncing on her talons. "Now let's go check out the palaces, Shall we?"
Everyone nodded so they took off, winging away into the early morning sky.
They'd already visited Pacree Hail, Stream, and Earth's palaces, and now they were headed to Pacree Sky's.
Eclipse knew the other Pacrees wanted to go back to their own palaces and explore more, but they also wanted to see the other Pacrees' palaces.
Eclipse's favourite room in Pacree Earth's palace had been the greenhouse, where all sorts of exotic and normal plants mixed and it seemed like a jungle. It could've fit maybe three hundred drolgons comfortably.
There had been a few smooth pebble paths curving through the greenhouse, but it was mostly overgrown plants that Drolgons could be at home in. It was the perfect temperature in there, too; not too hot, but not too cold, and just in the middle of humid and crisp air.
In Pacree Hail's palace, Eclipse's favourite room had been the Alpha's frosty bedroom. The floor was made of an unpolished, semi-rough stone, and the large windows at the back of the room were covered in frost. There were frostglobes (glass globes with IceWing frostbreath trapped inside of them) hanging from the ceiling in the corners.
The ceiling was made of a cloudy quartz with tiny diamonds embedded in it to look like falling snow.
In the middle of the room was a huge animal pelt carpet with a bed of down wrapped in more pelts on top of it. There was a blanket of fur draped over it, and the pillow was made of furs stuffed with down.
