Marks POV
Ethan and I continue walking as the colours of pink and purple light the ground. I look up seeing the sun setting, disappearing into the horizon, I smile feeling calmness wash over me
"We should stop for the night Ethan, it's getting late" I smile looking around for somewhere to camp that will keep us safe from the creatures that roam the night. I spot a little cave and smile
"Yeah you're right Mark, and today has been a...long day," Ethan says looking around
"Agreed. We can camp out in that cave and just put sticks around it as a door" I state, we've done this many times, making shelters out of what nature gave us. Ethan nodes and goes off looking for sticks and things to use. I smile and look at the sunset "It's just like that night..." I sigh closing my eyes
6 years earlier
I look up at the setting sun laying on the cold grass. I pry my eyes away from the colours and look over to Ethan lying beside me. A huge smile on his face as he looked at the bright colours above us; they painted his face in its bright pink and purple glow. He smiles and looks over at me giggling
"What's so funny?" I ask him not being able to help a laugh creep up my throat
"Oh, nothing-" he responds smiling sweetly "Just...this is nice, us just being able to hang out and just...having a nice moment to ourselves," he says smiling even more. I can't help but smile back
"It is nice," I say looking back up at the sky
"Hey Mark..." he says still looking at me
"Yes?"
"I just wanted to say thank you," he says softly. I look at him confused
"For what?"
"For everything Mark, For giving me a job, paying for me to move out here to work for you, for being my friend...for being here for me through everything" He smiles
"Ethan, of course. How could I say no after that backflip" I laugh. He blushes and punches my arm lightly
"We don't talk about that!" he laughs back
"Okay, okay, but seriously Ethan. I got you here but you did the rest" I smile. "Really Ethan. I'm super proud of you, you have made a name for yourself, you've put in the hours, you've worked harder than anyone I know. I'm truly proud of you" I saw looking into his eyes. He smiles widely
"I owe it to you, you inspire me so much, and not just an "Oh cool dude" No...Mark your work harder than anyone I've ever met, you know what you want and you work for it. I work hard because you do, and because I've always looked up to you." He laughs "Imagine me telling my teenage self that I'd be here in life, laying next to Markiplier in his backyard looking at the sunset after filming a video with him. Hell, my teenage self would probably say "Who the fuck are you and why do you still have so much fucking acne"" Ethan burst out laughing as I laugh with him "But seriously Mark...I owe you my success, I wouldn't work as hard as I do, or have the skills I do without you. You took a shot with me and put me under your wing...and for that, I'm so grateful Mark" He said smiling. I start tearing up a little
