The Mob Boss and The Reporter

By: Jessica Brown

Jin smirks, swirling the glass of wine in her hand as she looks around, seeing other people dressed in fancy clothes. Waiters dressed in suits going from table to table setting down plates of expensive food. Her eyes move to decorations of the place, the tables all dressed in white tablecloths, lines of gold on the edges, the walls lined with gold and silver etching. Along one wall a fish tank full of exotic fish, she looks at the tank and through the glass sees her reflection. Her red lips in the form of a smirk, Her long black hair draped over one shoulder. Her eyes travel lower to her Jenny Packman crystal-embedded V-neck gown that flows around her body and chair, lightly covering her Christian Louboutin heels that tapped against the floor lightly. She puts the glass down and looks at her Rolex Daytona Paul Newman watch, the face showing 8:59, He wasn't late but wasn't early. Soon one of the waiters comes up to her.

"Do you wish to order soon?" He asks, looking at Jin.

She looks at him and smiles softly. "No thank you, I am waiting for someone." She responds lightly.

The waiter nods and picks up the bottle of 1949 Domaine Leroy Richebourg Grand Cru and pours more of the red liquid into her glass. She smiles lightly and nods in appreciation, the waiter nods back and leaves, Jin's eyes follow the waiter and land on the door, her lips curl upward as the person she was waiting for walks into the restaurant. Her eyes trail the man up and down taking in his suit, a cheap suit from the local tailor. Her eyes go up further looking at his hair, seeing his blond curly hair and green eyes, she smiles in amusement. The man walks up to the hostess and starts talking with her, soon Jin hears his shoes clicking on the marble floor as he approaches her table. She grins like the Cheshire cat and picks up her glass taking a sip of the aged wine.

"Jin?" The man said from behind her.

She swallows the wine and slowly pulls the glass from her lips, setting the glass down.

"Ah, you must be detective Colin Woods, please have a seat." She says not facing him.

She smirks wider as she sees him come into view taking the seat across from her. She places her elbow on the table and puts her head in her hands looking at the man. He only glares at her. The air was thick around the table, neither of them speaking first.

"Not going to say anything, detective?" Jin asks, being the first to break the silence.

"What am I supposed to say?" He says looking at her.

She smirks and presses her finger against the rim of the wine glass, she then starts rocking it around by its circular base. The red liquid in it followed the glasses motions going around in an unperfect circle.

"Well, I'm sure you have questions. You have been following me and my brother for months" she says, looking into his green eyes. He gulps looking into her dark eyes.

"I do have a few questions," Colin says, reaching into his suit jacket pulling out a tape recorder. Jin smirks and looks at it as he places it on the table.
