"Yuri, I want him in."
A heated debate has arisen between two females. One was a leader, skilled in many aspects of combat. The other was a soldier, skilled in the way of a blade. Both were excellent assets, had excellent characteristics, and worked hard for what they wanted.
From an outsider's perspective, nothing can separate the two as their compatibilities and their skillsets align with their ideologies. People often fail to account for many other factors, as it was natural to make judgments on people or situations. It was a human thing to do and since being human is what causes a lot of issues to occur in the first place, it's one of the few things that the battlefront doesn't permit.
Everything and circumstance are brought up to those in charge. Civilian casualties, exposure to law enforcement and government, the purpose of the mission and its intended outcome, the current capabilities. Everything.
Emotional attachments must be discarded without a second thought—a necessary sacrifice to ensure the highest percentage of performance, combat capability, and survival rate. Morals are not thrown in the trash, and the burden of anything related to morals is placed upon the shoulders of the administration.
No one other than Yuri Nakamura bears that pain. Her decisions deliberately choose not to hold anyone accountable. It was stated in the oath every single member took and is meant to be an altruistic sign of trust, signed by their own blood.
"Fine. Do as you wish," Yuri hesitantly approved, her chair squeaked as she laid back against it.
One can still blame themselves, but this was a way of doing something without being guilty, so long as they shut the memory away and blame one single person for all their wrongdoings. Members of the battlefront question other members and ask if they would ever take it a step further and commit wrong acts. Luckily for them, wrong acts were already defined in the manual, and that tended to be broad. If it wasn't specific enough, there was only one person to blame.
"Shiina, please let Otonashi know that 'Training Day' is coming up and that he's expected to participate."
"Of course."
The ninja promptly left the meeting room, and Yuri was back to typing rapidly on her computer. Two separate windows had completely different things written if compared side by side. One was a document that had details of an operation, and the other was a timeline of events that had approximations of when certain things began and when certain things were expected to end.
From left to right, there were four events. Each event had a specific name to it and was highlighted in its appropriate color according to many rules and factors. Some had specific flags for unique situations. The design, created by Takeyama, was meant to be simple and give an overall view of what to expect and what to gain.
The first event was highlighted in yellow. Another concert was supposed to be held and to be dubbed the last concert before Girls Dead Monster takes a long break. As that concert is happening, the Guild is supposed to finalize their details with the Yakuza. In this final meeting, the last shipments were to be determined, and preparations are put in place to ensure the termination of relationships goes over smoothly. With the latest operation having one of their leaders essentially removed, the transition should be a lot easier. Excuses and proof of increasing law enforcement activity were true. Shown to the Yakuza, they had no choice but to accept the Battlefront's final offer.
However, the Yakuza was lied to. While it was true the greater law enforcement body was attempting to source the surge in criminal activity, Yuri made the executive decision to blow their law enforcement investigations out of proportion as they usually end up nowhere. Time will pass, but the evidence continues to gather. Details become consistent, and a pattern is formed. Only so much time can pass under the radar will they eventually pop up and get discovered. Little can be done electronically as it will bring more attention and resources than necessary.
