I flinch knowing I can't stop him. As Blairs hand reaches back my life starts to flash before my eyes.

FLASHBACK

"Kayla why won't you go to yum char with me?"

My father asks kindly.

"I hate it!" My ten year old self yells at him, pouting. Man I was annoying.

My dad smiles down at me his kind brown eyes filled with years of love as he replys

"Will you ever go with me?"

I look at the ground sadly.

"Daddy you know if you ever die I promise I'll go to yum char everyday no matter how much I hate it. Because I love you"

I say running up and giving him a bear hug.

My dad just smiles not knowing how much those words really mean to me.

-------

"Where's dad?" I ask mum confused.

"Why didn't he pick me up?"

I walk around frustrated as mum turns on the TV the news flashing on.

I look up at the screen to the latest story.

"Man died in motorcycle accident. Mr Gary wild pulled his car halfway onto the road today when a motorbike, coming out of nowhere, smashed into the back of it instantly killing the man on the bike the mangled body has just been recognised."

I stop and turn towards mum slowly her face plastered in a look of horror. About to ask her what was wrong I hear the door ring.

"I got it!" I shout cheerfully running for the door. I stop a confused smile on my face as I look up to see two sad looking police men.

"Um I'm sorry but we are here to inform you of a tragic accident that happened today......" I watch the innocent little girl with her open emotions slowly start to die as the police tell me about my dead father.

The horrible news, changing me forced me to grow up faster. The soft innocent face of a child quickly evaporated and was replaced by a stone hard mask that let no-one in.

---------

"Mum please don't go"

I say my eyes tearing up as I grab at her wrist.

"Kayla, your fifteen you can look after yourself"

She replys gently pushing me away.

"What about Prim?!"

I whisper harshly not wanting her to wake up.

"Prim's a nice girl she will grow up fine. Unlike these poor kids in Africa."

Mum reply's annoyed.

I pause hearing the stairs creek.

"Mummy?"

I turn around to see Prim her little soft bear hanging from her hand as she stares up at mum innocently.

"Why have you got da suitcase? Where you going?"

She asks in her confused baby voice.

"Take her inside I can't deal with this right now" My mother whispers harshly.

"Why! Because you feel all high and mighty about going to Africa and helping some random kid? Well news flash MUM you've got two kids right here with no father and no money you can't just leave us!" I shout at her angrily as I start to cry.

"Don't do this Kayla your not a baby you can look after yourself. I'm leaving and that's final!" She shouts slamming the door of the cab.

FLASHBACK OVER

I feel the air literally move around me as he slashes the knife towards my heart.

"STOP"

I look up slowly to see Kyle standing in the doorway.

"Don't you ever lay a finger on the girl I love. She may have made some mistakes but she's the love of my life and if you even touch her I will beat the living shit out of your sorry ass."

Kyle shouts defiantly walking up to Blair with a baseball bat in his hand.

"Your a loser lying peice of shit who doesn't have the balls to stop me"

Reply's Blair threateningly holding out his knife.

"Really because I think the fact that I'm standing and your lying on the floor says something different"

Says Kyle walk towards us.

"What? I'm standing"

Says Blair a look of pure confusion on his face.

"We'll my bat thinks differently."

Reply's Kyle reaching the bat up and swinging it baseball style, smashing against Blair's head as he falls silently to the floor
