Chapter Four: United

Wilson

I woke up in agony. The night before I had been put to sleep by the sleep gas that doctors and dentists used to use. Abdu and his men had already started doing their experiments on us. I was restrained to a very uncomfortable... mattress? If it was, it wasn't a very good one. I looked to the side of me and saw Lucas, struggling to stay awake. I'm not even sure how he's able to BE tired when we're laying on these terrible things. I heard a quiet voice outside our cell that said,

"Op watter een sal ons eers eksperimenteer?"

It wasn't Adbu's. It was probably one of his 'minions'.

"Die een wat hulle Lucas noem." replied Abdu. I looked at Lucas in terror. We both knew something was going to happen to him. I looked in the direction of Catherine and George and they both looked frightened, too. Some of Abdu's minions came and lifted Lucas' bed. He mouthed something to me but I couldn't make out what it was. I looked over at George in sympathy, he looked so sad.

Shaun

I woke up, coughing.

"He's awake!" screeched a familiar voice. I slowly opened my eyes and was greeted by the cheerful smile of my sister, Kate.

"Kate!" I exclaimed. "You're... here!"

"Yeah!" she said, nearly crying tears of joy.

"W-where's mom and dad?" I asked. She looked at me, confused. Before she could say anything, my old friend James walked in the room.

"Shaun!" he said.

"James!" I replied. "I haven't seen you in weeks!"

"What? Didn't we see eachother like 2 days ago?"

"The meteor was like five weeks ago, though."

"Yeah, but... like Kayuuk? We spent four of those weeks together?"

"Wait, did we?"

"Yes!" exclaimed Kate. Then this guy who I didn't recognise walked in.

"Oh my gosh- Shaun! You're alright!" he started to approach me.

"Woah-woah-woah," I put my hand out. "Do I know you?"

The guy looked at Kate with a worried look on his face.

"Shaun, that's Conor, remember?"

"No, I don't."

This 'Conor' guy looked over at James and whispered; "Do I look any different?" As to which James shook his head.

"Shaun, are you feeling alright?"

I paused for a second.

"Oh, yeah. When I landed here on Samneasa, I kinda lost my memory. Well, I lost everything after the meteor."

Kate looked devastated.

"So you don't remember... Kayuuk, George, Conor, Lucas or the lady?"

I tried to think, but nothing came to me. I shook my head.

"And Wilson," added James. "He was there."

"Yeah, I remember Wilson! Where is he?"

"We're not sure," said Kate. "Our best bet is somewhere on this planet, but it's so big."

"Yeah." I agreed. I looked around where we were and immediately knew.

"The book store! This is where I met..." I stood up and went to the window, a sad look on my face.
