Chapter Seven: Rest, finally

In Shaun's, Kate's and Dave's time, these events happened in about 4 seconds. They were unable to act. James and Abdu were too fast. Abdu eventually came back into normal speed. He was holding a knife with blood on it. They looked down at James to see a big cut through the middle of his chest. His hand had also been cut off. Shaun looked back up at Abdu.

"You're a madman." he hissed.

"I didn't mean to-"

"THEN WHAT WERE YOU MEANT TO DO?" screamed Shaun. He ran at Abdu in pain and anger. He leapt through the air and prepared his hardest punch. As it was about to hit Abdu's face, the trio returned to the cave they had originally started in. It was like they said, they were hallucinating. Or, at least they thought. The three jogged outside and looked around to see if anything was off. They looked up to see Wilson, George and Conor tumbling down from the skies. They were all unconscious. The three stood there and watched, their mouths open. As soon as they hit the ground, they regained their consciousness. Shaun ran over to Wilson.

"Are you alright?" he asked, tears in his eyes. Wilson stood up, dazed.

"Yeah, I'm fine." he noticed Shaun was nearly crying.

"W-What happened? Is something wrong?"

"It's James." said Kate, sadly. Wilson's jaw slowly opened. His eyes lit up with anger and fire.

"Abdu killed him." said Dave, quietly.

"Abdu killed James?" asked Conor. George put his hand on Conor's shoulder and rubbed it.

"If I find that man-" began Wilson.

"We will find that man." interrupted Shaun. "He killed our best friend. He's gonna have to pay the price."

Wilson nodded his head slowly. The six looked down at the ground and closed their eyes, trying not to cry and instead, be brave.

Wilson looked up, trying not to cry and to change the subject.

"So what will we do now?" he asked.

"I think we-" began Shaun.

"Shaun, let's just relax." interrupted Dave. "We just watched James die, and we've been active for so long! It's been 13 hours since you woke up in Adapt Headquarters. Ever since then we've been doing something! We're tired!"

Shaun looked at the others, guilt on his face. They tried not to look at him.

"We'll set up camp here." said Shaun, instead. He looked up at Dave and smiled. "Relax, for a bit."

Dave smiled back.

"So what happened?" asked Kate.

"Hm?" said George.

"Before we... rescued you."

"Oh, right. I'm not entirely sure. We were here, on Kayuuk, and I was knocked clean out, out of the blank. Woke up inside a prison cell with Lucas, Wilson and the lady. Her name is Catherine, by the way. You didn't come with us because Abdu wanted you to be the first to test that cannonball telescope thing that Wilson escaped in."

"That's what Dave said." she laughed. There was a long pause between the two of them. They hadn't really talked to each other much since they met. Kate had seen George sitting on a log, by himself, so she went over to talk to him.

"Who is Dave, by the way?" he asked.

"Shaun supposedly met him when he first landed on Samneasa. They spent some time together, Shaun even risked his life to save Dave and his son, Eric. Once he did that, Dave instantly gained Shaun's trust. He found us, and turned us into... superheroes, basically."
