So that's exactly what we did. We walked. For miles upon miles upon miles. Until we found somewhere or someone or something safe. We didn't know what exactly. We were running quite low on water and food, only a couple blueberries and not much water. We had quite a few stops along the way, obviously to catch our breath and rest for a little. We've been walking for about a day and a half now. May the... 4th? 5th? Might even by the 10th. Kate and Wilson stopped writing in their diaries for a while, as there was literally nothing interesting to talk about. It's like when you've been staying in the same room as someone for a week and weren't allowed to leave. Nothing to talk about. Just walking. None of us knew if we were going to survive or not.

A giant thud spread across the entirety of Samneasa. It came out of the blank. First the entire ground shook violently, then an extremely loud and long bang. Wasn't a gun. Wasn't a grenade. It was definitely something much, much bigger. It swept all five of us off of our feet and launched us about 20 feet in the air. I slammed into the ground very forcefully and passed out.

I gained my consciousness once again. My head stung a little but everywhere else in my body seemed to be alright. It smelt nice where I was. I slowly opened my eyes and was surprised to see a while tiled roof above my head. Quite rare to see something better quality than that these days. I knew I was finally in a safe place. Might even be back on Earth. I lifted my head and for the 2nd time was greeted by the smiles of Dave and Eric. They were alive! Behind them were Kate, James, Conor and Wilson.

"Dave? Eric?" I said. "You're alive!"

"Do you remember Kayuuk?" asked Kate. And weirdly enough, I did!

"Woah, that thud must've gave me my memory back." I said.

"No," replied Dave. "It was us."

I looked at him in confusion.

"There are a couple of things you don't know about me and Eric," began Dave. "For the past four to five weeks, all of us at the Adapt Corporation have been searching Samneasa for the right people to help us."

"Help you?" I asked.

"Abdu is more than we thought." said Wilson. "You know the thud that happened a couple hours ago? That was one of his experiments."

"Experiments? W-what do you mean experiments?"

"We have been doing some research and it shows that the thud wasn't any old meteor or anything. It was a human." said Dave.

"A human created a thud so big that it blasted thousands of people like 30 feet in the air?"

"Yes. You see, like Wilson said, Abdu is not who we thought. His experiments have caused one of your friends, Lucas, to evolve into the size of about... 2 Mount Everests. 59,000 feet."

My jaw dropped in shock. 59,000 feet? That is huge!

"So what are we going to do about it?" I stood up.

"The Adapt Corporation has been doing some experiments of their own."

"What kind of experiments?" I smirked. Dave took a big inhale and said the word;

"Superpowers."

"What?" all five of us said in unison.

"But superpowers aren't real, right?" said James. "It just happens in movies with that CGI stuff."

"That's what we thought." Eric laughed. "These are strange times."

"So you're saying we can be Superman?" laughed Conor.

"Not that powerful." replied Dave. "But combined, you'd put up a pretty good fight against Superman."

"How can we trust you? How can you trust us?" I asked. Dave looked at me.
