As I was sleeping, I felt a nudge on my arm. I then opened my eyes and saw my mother.
"Sweetie, it's time to get up," she said in a soft tone.
As I was slowly waking up to the world around me. I looked at my mother, and I couldn't help but think that I still look more like her than my father, even at seven years old.
My mother was a beautiful small woman; she had dark twilight-looking skin that was soft and smooth with no blemishes and beautiful full lips, but her eyes were a different story.
They were a fantastic hazel color with magnificent gold speckles, and she has the most beautiful looking long hair. It was dark as night and had the texture of wool. It was as soft as it was eye-catching. She had it up in a smooth and neat bun.
On the other hand, my father was like a giant with impressive big muscles, and if you were not careful, he could crush you by stepping on you.
He had dark skin just like my mother and was very handsome with short wool-like raven-colored hair and big beautiful brown eyes to match. He has the most resounding voice you could ever hear, which is a massive difference from my mother, who has a high-pitched but soft-like voice that makes you want to melt.
You would think that these are the hugest differences between them but no to me there the smallest ones because, unlike my father, my mother is quirkless. While my father could create fire at will.
My mother could do nothing special, but even with no quirk, I still loved her nonetheless because, to me, you do not need a quirk to be the greatest parent on the earth.
As I finally pulled myself from my thoughts, I saw my mother with a worried look on her face.
"Karai Karai, are you okay, sweetie?" my mother asked worryingly as I was staring into not replying to her. In a hurry, I gave a response.
"Yeah, I'm ok, mommy. I was thinking I'm sorry for worrying you," I said apologetically.
"you don't need to apologize; all I just want to know is that you're ok because you are my world."
"l love you, mommy," I said as I started to cry, touched by her words.

After I got up and ate breakfast, I started getting ready for my daily training with my father to control my quirk better because I wanted to be a hero, just like every other kid.
"Are you ready to go outside, sweetie?" my father asked "yes, daddy," I said as I grabbed my father's hand and walked outside with him.
"Okay, sweetie, let's start where we left off last time." "breathing in and out?" I asked "yes, honey, that's correct," my father chirped.
He then started to breathe in and out, looking at me to follow what he is doing, so I began to do it too. He then closed his eyes as he slowly started to activate his quirk. Beautiful red and orange flames started engulfing his arms. Almost like he was being set on fire.

He then opened his eyes. They were no longer the beautiful brown I was used to. They were now bright orange like fire itself. I looked at my father in wonder. I then excitedly started to repeat what he did.
As I closed my eyes, I thought about activating my quirk, controlling it so in the future I can become the hero I always wanted to be, The kind of one that can make people feel safe, a hero who always saves and never hurts a civilian.
As I opened my eyes, I saw that my body was covered in glowing hot orange markings. As I looked down, they covered my whole body. My hands, arms, legs, everything I looked on in amazement. I then look up at my father. He had a proud look on his face.

"I see you got your great grandfather's quirk. I'm so proud, of you sweetie."
he then called for my mother, " Kana, come outside look." My mother then came outside to the backyard; once she saw me, she let out a gasp. She, too, then had a proud look on her face.
"My God, I always thought she had your quirk because the other sessions, she would only light little fires with her hand, but I was wrong," she said in a shocked tone.

My father then asked for my mother to go back inside so we could train some more. As she went back inside, my father then started to test my abilities. It was the usual hit this target or saw if you can light the part of your body on fire. It went on like that for at least an hour; once I look at the clock, it was now 11 am.
"Ok, Karai, now I want you to build all those flames and emotions to cover your whole body in flames just like me," my father said in a steady tone.
"Ok, daddy," I said determinedly. I then closed my eyes and started to think about building up my flames, moving them controlling them. I began to think about how in the future, I'll be able to help people protect themselves from the bad guys because that's what heroes do; they protect. As I was thinking of those things, I started to get lost in my mind.
I felt like I was being taken over like I was being put in the back seat of a car as someone else drove. At that moment, I truly lost myself.

Normal Pov
Karai's power was growing steadily as it became more and more unstable; her father yelled out, " KARAI KARAI SNAP OUT OF IT YOUR POWER IS GROWING TO DANGEROUS!"
As this was happening, Kana was in the house making lunch until she heard her husband yell, and so at that moment, she ran outside to see what was going on. That's when she saw her daughter lit up in flames, eyes as bright as the sun looking as if she was no longer in control.
"HIROKI WAS GOING ON!" she yelled worryingly.
"SHE'S LOST CONTROL!" he yelled as he went back to trying to snap his daughter out of it."KARAI KARAI SWEETIE, IF YOUR IN THERE, I NEED YOU TO SNAP OUT OF IT"
her mother then, in a fit of worry, started to walk towards her " Karai, if you're in there, please come back to mommy," she said. At the same time, tears ran down her face as she gets her hand close to her daughter.
Kana whispered," Karai," and at that moment Karai looked her mother she had a look of fury as Karai then raised her hand and she blasted a ball of fire at her Mother hitting her and knocking her down.
"KANA!" Hiroki yelled as he ran towards his wife in a hurry cradling her in his arms as he pulled out his phone to call 119.
Karai's Pov
Suddenly, it's like a fog cleared in my mind as I started to power down and came back to my senses. I began to look around, wondering what happened until I saw my father cradling my mother in his arms.
Then I saw the massive burn on my mother's face. I then screamed in horror as I was staring at her wide-eyed I then fell to my knees and looked at my hands, the hands that hurt my mother.
"I- I'm a m-monster," I said as tears streamed down my face hitting the ground in big drops. At that moment, I realized I'm not worthy of being a hero because what hero hurts their own mother and innocent civilian only monsters do that, then that means that
I'm a monster, a monster not worthy of being a hero.
