I didn't know where I was running too, I just had to get away, as far as I could, I ran begging that I wouldn't trip or stumble on anything. I could hear them behind me. They didn't expect me to run when I did and catching them off guard really did give me a huge advantage in the chase. I didn't run to the village, I couldn't risk it, I couldn't risk any of them getting hurt because of me, It wouldn't be fair for anyone. I sprinted to the arena where I hoped some weapons lay discarded. I was tired and out of breath but I could hear them and that was my one motivation to keep running. Once the arena came into view I scanned the floor and walls (A/N imagine the arena like a big sandbox with dummies and walls for hanging weapons <3) for any weapons and saw a couple of stone swords and finally my eyes caught sight of a axe, made of iron leaning against one of the walls. I slid across the sand and grabbed it by the handle, I slid trying to get up and fell, if I do say so myself it was a wonderful attempt. I quickly regained myself and was on my feet as the trio arrived. I was a little bit unsteady, in what world did I think sliding to the weapon was a good idea?
Cursing myself I got into a defensive stance and got ready for whatever was coming. 'In what world did you think that would be a great idea' Dream asked, getting his axe out. I stayed silent, I didn't trust myself to speak, and even if I did speak, what would I say?
Dream chuckled and looked at my axe. I felt myself flush, I knew I wouldn't beat them. It was impossible, three of the most skilled fighters, with the best weapons against an untrained girl with the worst weapon ever. This was not a fight moment, this was a flight moment. I needed at least one of them injured so that I had a better chance at making it out alive. I gripped my axe tighter. Sapnap walked towards me laughing. 'Didn't they kick you out for being shit at fighting?'. 'No they didn't' I whispered, so that only Sapnap could hear. 'Oh really' he said with a mocking voice, 'Because I think you can't fight for shi-' but before he could finish his sentence I had buried my axe into his knee. He screamed and collapsed to the floor. I took that as my cue to leave. 'George, stay with him' I heard Dream yell, as he leapt over the wall to proceed after me. I needed to go somewhere safe, somewhere where they couldn't hurt me. There was only one place that came to mind..
L'manberg
I didn't have another choice, My breath was quick and shallow, and my legs were sore, my head was throbbing and I wanted more that anything in the world, to just drop down right now, and just wait for dream to catch up with me. I don't know why I didn't give up in that moment. All I know is that I didn't. I ran to the stables where my horse, Sprinkles (A/N First name to come into my head, sorry, and also pretend Spirit is still alive) was waiting for me. She was always glad to see me, and usually I would spend hours talking to her, and grooming her, but today was not the day. I needed to get out of here. She was saddled already when I got there, and all I had to do was hop on and get out. I swung my legs over her and grabbed the reins. I was sweaty and nervous, one wrong move and Dream would end me, with a swing of his axe.
I trotted out of the stable, to see Dream running into the trees, I started galloping to L'manberg, I was finally safe and away from Dream, that was until I heard a horse neigh behind me. I turned around to see Dream galloping full speed at me. I started panicking, 'Come on Sprinkles' I mumbled to the horse, as though understanding the desperation in my voice, she ran faster, I stayed clear of the main road, galloping through the forests, but nothing I did threw him off me.
Finally after what seemed like hours of galloping I saw the L'manberg walls, Dream was so close behind me, I swear that if he reached out he could pull me straight of my horse, I was scanning the walls for someone to call out to, A black hat and orange ears caught my sight, my best friend was patrolling the gate. I rode onto the road and straight for the gate. 'Fundy, open the gates' I yelled as loud as I could, he looked down shocked to see me here, until he saw who was behind me. 'Open the gates' he yelled and ran down out of sight.
The gates started to open and I ran in, I couldn't hear Dream's horse so he wasn't behind me, I turned around to see him on his horse, behind the gate, Bow loaded, pointed straight at me, I heard someone screaming my name, as Dream let the arrow fly and it buried itself in my shoulder.
'I WANT TO SEE WHITE FLAGS' he roared, 'TOMORROW AT DAWN, OR YOU ARE DEAD' I heard people calling my name, and the last thing I saw before passing out was that smile of his, the one that never left his face.
(A/N can we like not talk about this one, It was shitty and I know it, but I really tried. Drink water, and eat food, and please sleep <3, I learned how to make things bold, yaya we learning)
