Freya Westwood was created to be a wildfire. Burning down the pure petals from freshly bloomed flowers of hope. Destroying beauty and happiness. Most of all, to wreak havoc on life. Bringing pride to District 1 was her sole purpose; it was greater than family, greater than friendship, and most of all, love.
The name of Westwood is known by every ear in Panem, even down in the outlying districts. Prestige, honor, and among the most elite in One. It was only fitting that they sharpened Freya's rough edges into beautifully harsh, killer blades. Like other Careers, she was trained, but she was far different from the others. She was a natural; spying out others' weaknesses like gems in mines and plucking them out with deadly precision.
There was a raw, burning drive that made her intelligence, strength, and appearance all fade to the side. Behind that stained-glass exterior hid darker, impure hatred, contrasting colorful clarity. Passion. It shone through the facade her family put over her and it carried through every movement.
She won the genetic lottery, the draw of status, the talent with weaponry, and natural intelligence, but –
Freya was driven by a desire to win.
