Techno left last night through the nether portal to trade with the piglins. Phil could've sworn he said he'd be back by noon, it was just a routine nether trip there was nothing to worry about. Right?
It was two hours past his scheduled return so Phil decided it couldn't hurt to go check on Techno. He put on his gold boots to protect himself from the piglins and went to the portal.
He arrived in the nether and immediately found Techno's tracks. Any normal person would've passed his trail in an instant but Phil had become an expert in tracking down Techno after a few especially dangerous adventures.
Eventually, he got to the end of the trail, and to his comfort he found two empty piglin trading holes, meaning Techno had already finished his business here and was probably already heading back to the portal.
As he turned around to leave a hoglin grabbed him by the back of his shirt and brought him to his cave. He tried to leave but the hoglin wouldn't let him. It seemed very adamant about not hurting him but he didn't want to test that. Phil decided he could wait it out until the morning, hopefully, Techno would be back by then.
After an hour or so with the hoglin it finally fell asleep. His original plan was to leave when the thing finally fell asleep but he felt strangely attached to it. A quick nap couldn't hurt. He laid against the hoglins soft stomach and quickly felt his eyelids getting heavy.
"TECHNO?" Phil called out into the black void that surrounded him. He heard something move behind him and he quickly turned around. His eyes are met with Techno looking more scared than Phil had ever seen him. "I'm sorry the voices demand blood".
Phil awoke suddenly to the hoglin in an angry rage. He ran out of the cave and the hoglin chased him. It tried to bite at Phil but he wouldn't let the creature spill his blood, not today. He wrestled with the tusks and finally after some struggling he pushed the creature away far enough for him to run. There was a little crevice in the netherack and Phil decided to hop in it, the crevice was just big enough for him but too small for a hoglin to get through.
The hoglin was still wreaking havoc out in the nether so he decided he would dig a bit further into the crevice so he could have some space while the creature calmed down. He grabbed his pickaxe and dug a few blocks further into the crevice. To his surprise, he came across a pre-dug room lined with chests. He wondered who the hell would have made their nether base so close to the hoglins cave, but the stuff looked like it hadn't been touched in a while so it was a possibility that the hoglin could've killed them. He tried to distract himself from that thought. He started rummaging through the chests but all he found was a collection of gold nuggets, presumably to be smelted but he didn't see any smelting materials anywhere in the room. He shrugged it off and pocketed a few of the nuggets so he wouldn't leave the nether empty-handed.
A few hours later the hoglin started to calm down and Phil slowly started to leave the crevice. He tried to make a dash for the nether portal but the hoglin loomed over him. Phil started to back away slowly. Then the hoglin did something unexpected, it grabbed Phil and brought him to the nether portal quickly as if in a hurry. Phil hopped in the nether portal and as his vision was clouded with portal he saw the outline of the hoglin return to its crazed state.
Phil returned to his house and called for Techno, no reply... He called again, still no reply... Now he was worried he started looking around for any sign that Techno had been home. He didn't find anything, no extra gold in the chests, no muddy footprints, nothing. He wanted to run back to the nether right there and then, but he was getting extremely sleepy. The nap wasn't long enough to substitute for an actual night's rest and he would be no use to Techno if he was sleep-deprived. Phil went up to his bedroom and practically fell down on the bed out of exhaustion.
Phil entered the nether and stared straight into the eyes of the mysterious hoglin from yesterday. It gave a slight nod of the head and led Phil to his cave, it was lined wall to wall with chests filled with gold nuggets. The hoglin looked so very happy but so very sad at the same time. Phil reached out to touch the hoglin to reassure it but as soon as his hand touched the hoglins fur he awoke.
Phil woke up and the dream left his mind as quickly as it had entered, but something in him knew he had to go back to the hoglin.
Sorry, it's short I didn't want to go too big on the first chapter. Have a great day everyone!! I'll try to update soon. (probably again tonight or sometime tomorrow)
