Thea Parker"He asked you to marry him?" Charlotte gasped loudly causing me to shush her.
"Yes." I giggle.
"Damn girl that's a nice fucking ring." Jade commented.
I look down on the silver ring on my finger and smiled.
"It is, isn't it?"
"Hell yeah! I wish my man would pop the question." Jessica crossed her arms.
"Oh please," Charlotte chuckled bitterly,"Knowing your dumbass you'd probably get drunk and end up pawning that bitch."
"True." We all laugh.
"So when's the wedding?"
"In a few days." I whisper.
"I know that tone girl, are you a little nervous?" Jade asked.
"Maybe...I'm just worried that something will go wrong or Harry might have to rush of to some sort of gang thing." I babble.
"Hey, hey," Jade stops me from talking,"Everything will work out just fine and your wedding will be amazing."
"Thanks Jade."
"We need to go dress shopping!" Charlotte cheers loudly.
"There's actually no need for that."
"Why not?" She frowns.
"Because Harry already bought a lot of dresses for me to choose from since it would be too dangerous to go out in the public with Carter still lurking." They all nod.
"That's smart." Jessica says.
"Let's go try them on!" Instantly Charlotte grabs my hands and pulls me out the door and into the hallway. We turn the corner and that's when Charlotte starts to yell like a maniac.
"Harry?! Where your dumbass at?" I mentally palm myself on the forehead.
"May I help you Charlotte?" Harry emerges from the kitchen with a blank expression on his face.
"Yes you can, my girl here wants to try on the dresses that I hope you chose carefully and with taste." At this I try not to laugh.
Harry narrows his eyes at her.
"Follow me." Me and Charlotte follow behind Harry who looked annoyed.
Seconds later we arrive in front of a steel door with a lock pad on it. Harry punches in the number and soon the door opens. He then takes out a few dresses and hands them to me.
"How about these?"
I nod my head quickly
"They're beautiful." My mouth hangs open in astonishment.
"Only the best for my girl."
"Hey! It's bad luck to see the bride with the dress before the wedding day." Charlotte crosses her arms.
"She does realize that I picked these out myself so I already know what they look like, right?"
"Oh yeah."
"Anyways," I clear my throat," I'll just go try these on real quick."
"Have fun." Harry winks at me before slapping my ass.
I roll my eyes and start to head back to the room, Charlotte skipping behind me. Once the other girls see us enter their eyes immediately light up.
"Wow," Jade's mouth gapes at the amount of dresses in my hands,"That man sure loves to spoil your ass rotten."
"I know!" Isn't it great?" Jessica beams.
"I'll be in the bathroom." I tell them.
"And we'll wait out here expecting to see every dress missy!"
Laughing, I close the door behind me.

I look in the mirror and take in this newfound appearance. My long hair flowed down my shoulders, the color seeming lighter than usual. A bright twinkle in my eyes indicated that I was indeed happy but for some reason I didn't believe I was. Maybe it was because I was still in shock about getting married to the most viscous gang leader in the world or I was having cold feet.
But I want to get married, don't I?
This feeling of uneasiness was swarming at the pit of my stomach. I'd never thought I would be here I'm this crazy circumstance with a person who I thought was incapable of love or any feeling at all actually. But over time I have come to learn that this man who seemed heartless soon became the man whom I fell in love with. All these days I never thought that I would need someone so much who was the complete opposite of me. But you know what they say, opposites attract. I was scared and he was nervous though we were able to overcome our insecurities and come to a mutual agreement. My dreams that I had didn't even happen due to this helpless circumstance with Harry and to be honest with you I would just be doing what my parents wanted and not what I wanted. For years I have lived under their rules, their expectations instead of going my own way and making my own choices. Harry has changed my life for the better and for that I will be eternally grateful. Nothing has made me more happier than being with him and feeling every ounce of love he gave. And sure we've had our ups and down but only because we were trying to figure each other out. Harry was lost in darkness and he needed me because I was his light in that dark tunnel, his focus. He always thought that he'd never be capable of feeling this type of stability before but I knew all along that he had it in him. His words he said to me didn't mean to heal the hurt, they were coincidentally more than enough and what I needed to hear which was the truth. Every switch in my mind wanted to ignore the fact that my life has come to this, a charade. I was a pawn in Carter's game and I'll be damned if I ever bend to his will again. Although Harry would come to my aid every time didn't make me feel very independent at all. The Thea who first came here was weak, naive and broken. But now I had the upper hand and more strength than ever before and it's all because of him.
I run my hands down the soft fabric of dress that was laced with what looked like actual diamonds. Of course Harry would go out of his way to find the nicest dress which was thoughtful of him. Suddenly my eyes land on a little note attached to the side of it. I carefully rip it off gently and start to read.
"Hey baby, I didn't know what your taste was so hopefully diamonds and rhinestones are enough. Can't wait to see you walk down the aisle, I love you.
-Harry
I smile and wipe the tear that was about to fall from my eye.
Even in the darkest of times he always knew how to make me smile.
"Thea! Are you ready?" I could hear Charlotte's voice yell from the other side of the door.
Taking a deep breath I take one last look in the mirror before nodding.
"I'm ready."
