CHAPTER 2
{{Dillon's POV}}
"I'm home!" I called out nervously, shutting the front door behind me. Almost immediately, Mum appeared from round the kitchen doorway, and I could tell she was really annoyed just by the atmosphere around her.
"So," I laughed nervously, "what's this about a hairdresser?" She bit her lip, trying to stay calm in front of our 'guest', "She's called Joanne and she's here to cut your hair, like you told me you wanted it last week. I thought I told you, weren't you listening?" I nodded.
"Yes Mum, I was listening. In fact I was hanging on to every word you said!" I could tell I was pushing it with her but it was just so funny watching her try not to shout. I just couldn't resist! "I am pretty sure you didn't tell me that though." I swear steam was literally coming out Mum's ears by this point, and she'd turned bright red. I smiled sweetly at her and covered my mouth so I didn't laugh as I walked past her into the kitchen.
On the stool sat a young woman, early 20s was my guess. She had bleach blonde hair, much like Mum's, except shorter, and a box fringe. When she heard me walk in, she turned around and stood up.
"Hello sweetie," she greeted me with a warm smile, "I'm Joanne" She held out her hand and I shook it, "Dillon" I smiled back.
"What a unique name! Come, come sit down. So how was it you wanted your hair?" Joanne started parting my hair and brushing it until it was knot-free and wavy. I pulled out my phone and quickly searched the internet for a picture (A.N. the picture shouuuuld be in the sidebar or somewhere) and showed it to her. Joanne nodded thoughtfully and took my phone and placed it beside her then started styling my hair.
It took a long while but eventually it was finished. When I got up to look in the mirror, I looked completely different from before, my hair looked just like the photo, except less curled. I spent ages standing there, running my fingers through the mix of black and red.
"Wow." I breathed, turning to Joanne, "It looks amazing, thank you so much!" She smiled back at me, "I'm glad you like it! Is it what you'd hoped?"
I nodded. "It's better than what I'd hoped!" It was that moment Mum walked in.
"So Dillon how's you hair going?" she asked, walking straight to the fridge without even looking at me. I coughed slightly, and she turned around and gasped. I thought she was going to get mad, and say it was way to over the top, but instead her face lit up.
"It's gorgeous!" she exclaimed, playing with my hair. "You look so grown up! Who'd have thought it, my little Dillon...growing up" I saw her eyes tear up slightly and I pushed her away softly feeling embarrased but I couldn't help but smile.
Mum payed Joanne and I thanked her again. "It was my pleasure" she said, and left.
I quickly pulled out my phone and texted Stephanie 'got new hair cant wait for u to see it! xx'
Then I grabbed my sunglasses and skipped into the back garden, and watched the sun go down while I scrolled through twitter.
