CHAPTER #23

A/N: I really thought that I'll be very busy this month and it turns out that I was wrong. Lol. Anyway, this might be the shortest chapter I've ever done since I'd started editing this book. But still I hoping that you will enjoy this chapter to the fullest. 

P.S. I'll update tomorrow the Chapter #24 or maybe I'll post it later. Not sure. It depends on my internet.

LEVY's POV

MY HEART break into pieces as soon as I saw her lying on the bed with full of wounds, bruise and bandage on her body. My throat instantly dry and my eyes clouded with my own tears. It is so heart breaking seeing my best friend on this state.

I slowly crossed the distance between us – when I finally reach her bed. I sit on the nearest chair as I held her hand. I bit my lower lips to stop myself from sobbing but I failed.

"Lu – chan" I sobs.

I don't know what to do or what to say. What happened to her is really unexpected!

"Is this your surprise to me?" I sobs "Your surprise is really breaking my heart, Lu – chan" my heart clench in pain as my own tears keeps on streaming down my cheeks, "I told you that we are going to hang out. This is not what I meant! I don't want to see you like this. This... you laying here is..." I can't even continue my own words because it's breaking my damn heart.

I don't know if I can afford to lose a friend. It's too painful.

"Shrimp" I heard a familiar baritone voice called me. I lift my head and turn it on the side ways to see the source of that voice. He was staring at me and I can't even understand what emotions are flashing on his eyes right now.

"Gajeel" I sobs.

He let out a deep sigh before he waltz towards me – when he finally reach my place. He lift his head and gently wipe my tears before leaning towards me and kiss my temple. His actions surprised me causing me to cry even more.

"Shh" he said before kneeling down on me – staring at my eyes "Your best friend will be sad if she sees you like this"

"She will be okay, right?"

"Of course," he reassured me "You have to trust your best friend, Shrimp. You told me before that she was a fighter"

"But," I sobs "the doctor said..."

"Human can performed a miracle" he said softly, "She'll be fine. She will wake up"

Right. He was right. I know my best friend will overcome this. She will definitely return to us – wearing her bright smile as she says...

"I'm back, Everyone"

NATSU's POV

MY parents and her parents forced me to take a rest. So here I am, standing outside on Lucy's room. I don't know what to do... I don't know if I'm allowed to be here when I know that it will just broke my heart. I smile bitterly before I reach for the door knob. This day... this day was fucking worse.

I have lots of plans for this day. I planned to confess my feelings towards her. I planned to ask her properly to become my girl. But it was... damn!

I slowly open the door and I was welcome by her scent. My heart clench in pain as I traveled my eyes around the room – and those memories that we shared here flashes before my eyes. Torturing me all over again.

"You shouldn't stay here, bro" I heard my brother said on my back. I didn't bother looking at him as I continue walking towards the bed, "I know it's hard, but you have to be strong"

"I just lost our baby, Haru" I mumble as my own voice broke into sobs "And now, she needs to wake up because she don't... she will end up being in coma or worst – I can't even know what to do if that happens"

"You have to trust her, bro"

My brother voice seems so far as I remember our last encounter here. Lucy was crying and she looks like she looks like she wants to say something to me. But she couldn't say it instead she just cried.

"Natsu" she breathe.

My eyes instantly soften before pulling her closer – as I carefully snaked my arms around her waist before burying my face on her neck – inhaling her sweet vanilla scent "I miss you too" she didn't reply on what I've said but I feel her body relax on my arms "Are you alright, Vanilla?"

"I'm fine" she mumble almost like a whisper "Because you are here" I felt his arms wrapped on my waist – hugging me tight. She didn't say anything like she was thinking about something and the next thing I knew – she was sobbing.

It's really pain me to see her like this.

I gently brush her hair "Hush, I'm here" she just keep on sobbing as her hug become even tighter than before. I kissed her on her temple "I'm here, okay"

She pulls a little as her tears keep on streaming down her cheeks "Don't leave me"

I smile on her "I won't, I promise"

Because I don't know what my life would be without you, Lucy.

My sentiment was cut off short when I heard my brother calling my name – so I lift my head turn it to him – he was looking at me worriedly "I told you she'll be fine"

"I don't know what my life would be without her, bro" I sobs "I want her back"

"Then let's go"

"To where"

"You need to stay there for her, Bro" he said "She might look for you if she wake up"

"But what if—"

"Then you need to stay." Cutting me off – my heart is being in torture on my own thoughts and I felt my brother tapped my shoulder "You have to be there. Whatever the result you should stay"

"I don't know if I can accept it"

"I know you can, because you love her"

I didn't answer my brother – and just divert my attention on Lucy's picture on the side of her bed before looking around the room again. This place used to be warm and lively. And without the woman I love here.

It seems cold and lifeless.
