Chapter One. The Investigation

Naruto's POV

"Lee, let's find a cafe and sit down. We should plan what we do first." I suggested as we walked around the neighbourhood looking for some nice cafes to sit down.

Lee had a deep thought until he lit up and turned to me with a grin. "There's a nice cafe that me and Ten ten went before, just around the corner!"

I made an o mouth and then cheeky grinned at him. "Ah~ So you took Ten ten chan on a date?"

Lee had a pretty visible blush when I said that, he bashfully scratched the back of his head and nodded.

"I really like her so I wanted to take her on a date! Look, that's the cafe I mentioned just now!" He said and pointed in front of him.

I turned to the direction where he pointed at and smiled. The cafe 'Stella la notte' was in front of us, the exterior of it was stunning. Decorated with stars and night sky, little planet decorations hung on the ceiling, giving a mysterious vibe. I looked around in awe as a waitress came to take us in and brought us to a window seat.

"Sir, what would you like to have? I recommend the star sandwiches or the galaxy iced coffee."

"We'll take two orders each then. Thank you!" Lee replied with a grin.

She bowed to us and left. Lee then placed his i-Pad on the table and started scrolling the screen. It showed the news that was reporting on a recent similar case on biters. He furrowed his eyebrows and pointed to the news.

"The dead body was found in the dark alley of the back street, the body was identified as Haruse Chika san. Married to Miyakawa Kudou san. The case was put on hold like the other similar cases since Chika san also died of blood loss and there's no suspect for now."

I noticed that the photo had Chika san lying on the ground, pale and lifeless. Her neck had a visible bite mark on it. I couldn't really imagine what the culprit looks like at all.

"Do you know where Kudou san lives, Lee? We should get some answers from him."

Lee winked at me with a bright grin and gave me thumbs up. "I know where he lives! We can go there afterwards!"

I highfived with him and smiled back. "Great! I have such a brilliant partner!"

The food arrived and was placed in front of us. A star shaped sandwich and a cup of coffee with dreamy colours like the galaxy, purple, blue and black with sparkles mixed together with planet shaped ice in it. We all clap out hands together and smiled.

"Itadakimasu!"

We had a good time eating in this cafe, after 30 minutes, we paid and left the cafe. I'm definitely going to come here again!

Lee knew Kudou san's home address since a colleague of his told him about it when he went to interview him before. It was just a few streets away from us. The street that he was living in was pretty decent. Single housing.

We walked to the third house and to the doorstep. I took a deep breath and pressed the doorbell.

*Ding dong~*

Awhile later, someone opened the door. A man in his late twenties stood in front of us. He looked stresses and tired, eyebags under his eyes and haven't shaved in days. He saw the two of us who wore suits and frowned.

"Reporters again? Like I said! I was finally allowed to go back home after hours of questioning and now there are reporters like you bugging me again?!"

"Please listen to us Kudou san! We are indeed reporters of Konoha Media Co. We're not suspecting you or anything!" Lee said as he held the door with his hand and looked straight to him.
