Harry woke up in the arms of Louis, and honestly, he wished he could wake up like this every day. He wished Louis never had to go back home. But Louis' birthday would pass while the girls were still here. And while he promised to stay until this was over, then he would have to go back home and would have a kingdom to worry about. His coronation was technically during this whole event thing, and Harry hoped his parents would let him slip away for a day or two to go.
He sighed, watching as Niall came into the room, opening up the curtains to allow sunlight to stream through.
"Morning, Niall," Harry said quietly.
"Good morning, Your Majesty."
"Niall, I know you have no problem calling me Harry. You do it all the time off work hours. It can't be that hard to translate over."
"Sorry."
"And stop apologizing."
"Sorr- um. Right." He finished opening the last curtain, turning back towards the bed in the center of the room. "Is Louis awake?"
"Ugh, yes," Louis said into Harry's curls. "Why'd you have to go and open all the curtains? All that light woke me up."
"Her Majesty wants you to be to the dining hall soon. Most of the girls are already awake and eating."
"Are we allowed to eat in the family dining room?" Harry asked. Seeing sixty girls first thing in the morning didn't sound very appealing, especially if Eleanor was included in that group.
"She wants you to eat with the girls."
"Of course she does."
He slid out of the bed, much to Louis' protests, and took the clothes Niall handed him, stepping into the bathroom to take a shower.
When he emerged, Louis was standing already dressed, his hair slightly damp. He must have run over to his own room to take a quick shower.
"Your Majesty," Louis said, bowing and offering him a hand. Harry giggled and Louis found himself with the sudden urge to kiss him again. He shook his head, trying to shake the feeling. Harry was going to fall in love with one of those girls, and he wasn't going to stand in the way.
When they reached the dining hall, Louis pulled out a chair for Harry, ignoring the stares of all the girls as he sat down next to him. "They like a bunch of hawks watching their prey," Louis whispered, leaning into Harry.
Harry giggled. "It's kind of unnerving," he whispered back. "All those little eyes."
Louis snorted.
"Can I please have everyone's attention?" Anne said, rising from her seat. Harry noticed his dad was nowhere to be seen. "I would just like to explain few things about the event while you're all here," she said once everyone had quieted down. "There will be three official cuts. One a week from today, one a month from today, and one in two months. At the end of three months, there would be an unofficial cut of anyone left. And please remember, this is not a competition, merely an attempt to break a curse."
Whispers arose among the girls. "Can we drop out," he heard Eleanor ask rather loudly. "I'm going to marry Louis."
Louis sunk down in his chair. Harry wondered if he could kick her out and ban her from ever setting foot in his castle again.
"It's Prince Louis," Gigi said to her disapprovingly. "You don't get to drop the title, just because you feel like it."
"I can do whatever I want. We're getting married."
"Please cut her," Louis said to Harry.
"I'm looking forward to it."
