Dimentio POV
I was sitting in the audience, watching Daisy on trial. Since this was a 'formal event,' they made her plead her case while wearing her old orange dress. I've never seen it before, but apparently this is what she use to wear.
The jury talked it over. She basically told everyone exactly what went down. But since her military leader was....well, dead, along with all the other witnesses, it was hard to prove her innocence.
I was called to explain what I knew a few times, but I wasn't very involved. People would shush me whenever I tried to object, and they wouldn't really let me speak. It was rather annoying.
A bunch of toads were serving in the jury, so I was pretty nervous. Once their votes were cast, I took a deep breath. I could see Daisy begin to sweat.
The judge ordered everyone to be silent, then spoke.
"The Jury has decided, now that all the information has been presented, that Princess Daisy of Sarasaland has been found.....NOT GUILTY! You may all be dismissed."
I immediately stood up and applauded. "YES! Bravo! What a show!" A few people gave me weird looks as they left the courtroom, but I didn't care.
I ran the opposite way, up towards the front of the room to Daisy. She was smiling a huge smile. "I believe a congratulations is in order." I told her. She chuckled, then pulled me into a hug. "I was pretty nervous, not gonna lie. But I knew we'd have this case in the bag."
I let go and looked at a clock on the wall. "I need to get to Luigi and give him his daily dose."
She nodded and took my hand. "Well, then let's go! Has he woken up yet?" I shook my head. "Not that I'm aware of."
Together, we made our way back to the hospital. Since I have to be under surveillance and Mario wasn't with me, a toad guard had to escort us. They didn't really like when I'd teleport, so we walked.
When we got there, Mario was sitting in a chair next to Luigi's bed. Luigi appeared to still be asleep.
"Has he woken up yet?" Daisy asked. Mario nodded. "Yes. He was awake this morning, then Mr. L said he was also awake during lunch."
I nodded, then walked over. I held my hands over him and closed my eyes.
It only took me a few minutes. I relaxed once it was done. My magic has returned for the most part, now.
Also, good news! About those tasers, that toad, Tod stated that they were an inhumane way to deal with criminals since they could leave lasting effects. There's a small scar on my side from when I got hit last, but I was lucky. If I got hit one more time according to doctors I would have lost my magic permanently. So those have been banned.
Mario seemed a little scared of me at first, but he's gotten use to me over the past few days. He's pretty much stuck with me until the Mushroom Kingdom deems me, 'trustworthy.'
Daisy looked down at Luigi. "How was he? When he woke up. Was he okay?" Mario slowly shook his head. "He didn't sound good, but I think that he's himself again. For the most part. That book isn't controlling him anymore. But he's....pretty horrified with what he's done."
I nodded. "Mario....do you know if we could have a minute with him?"
He gave Daisy a concerned look. She smirked. "Don't worry. I'll keep an eye on Dimentio. I know he's supposed to be under your surveillance.'"
Mario slowly nodded, then left. "Call me in if anything happens."
Once he left, I slowly let my guard down. Daisy patted my shoulder.
