It was 8.00 pm when I stepped out of the cabin. With a little help from my friends, I was all dressed up and ready.
I was wearing a tight red skirt, with ties on the side. A lace-up shirt, with the collar/top open. Black, patterned, fishnet tights and my black combat boots I always wear. I had no lipstick but mascara with eyeliner. My hair was in a messy bun, with my bangs hanging out the front. Finally, to top it off, I had my leather jacket, and 4 ear pricings in. I almost forgot I have an ancient rune tattooed on my collarbone that was showing. Normally the mist hides it, but since it is magic and I'm inside camp, you can see it. As you probably guessed, I got it enchanted by the Hecate kids. It means 'to love and survive' so quite often when I'm with Nate it emits a faint warm glow. I also have another one on my left forearm of a little black cat that likes to move around my body and sleep in the crook of my elbow.
It was crisp, but not cold. As I stood on the cabin porch, looking at the night sky, I didn't realize Nate was there until he started talking. He had on black jeans, braces that hung by his sides, an loose, casual white shirt, and a black jacket/hoodie type thing, that hugged his muscles and shape perfectly, with his iconic beat-up converse on his feet. To be honest, he looked really handsome. "Are you ready to go, my lady?" He asked as he held out a beautiful bunch of black, purple and silver roses. "Yes, my prince, let me just put these inside." Our fingers brushed and a magical feeling went up my arm when I took the flowers from him. Even though we've been together for almost two years, it still sends a magical feeling through my body when we accidentally touch. Though maybe he does it on purpose to be funny. Who knows. I went back inside the Hades cabin to put them on my bedside table.
<time skip>
He had his hands over my eyes, gently guiding me to the tree probably. He led me down through the camp. Most of the other campers were down at the campfire, so we didn't need to worry about them.
"Okay angel, we're here" He whispered in my ear, breath tickling my neck. Removing his hands from my face he took a step back to let me take it all in. Seeing the beautiful sight made me involuntarily gasp. There was a soft picnic blanket on the ground near the shore. Above it was floating fairy lights that he had enchanted to stay in the air, there were also a few old lanterns on the ground. There was dinner, in a traditional picnic basket, with soft music floating through the air.

He took my cool hand in his warm one and helped me down beside him. The Fairy lights were casting a warm glow on the fairytale-esque scene. It looked like something right out of a book. The setting sun was lighting up the sky in a mosaic of beautiful reds, oranges, and highlights of yellow. Where we were sitting was facing the sunset in the east. Reflecting on our faces with a natural glow. It was warm in the sun with a bit of a cool breeze. Perfect Autumn conditions.
He handed me a plate with small sandwiches with crusty bread, a couple of fruits and veggies, and a glass of lemonade. While we ate we talked about everything and nothing just enjoying the presence of each other. We had popcorn and magically frozen strawberry ice cream he had made himself.
<Nate's POV>
Sitting across from the girl I love, I can see she's enjoying this. Thank goodness, it took an unnecessarily long time to make perfect. The sun had almost gone down and there was something I wanted to do before it got dark. I have been preparing this for a long time, so I hope this goes according to plan.
Steeling myself, I sat up and took her hand. "So, umm, there's something that.. that I want to say." I stuttered, cursing myself for it. I could see on her face that she was curious as to what I meant. "We've been together for 2 years now and friends before that." I could practically see her getting more interested and possibly happy? with each sentence. "Through tough times and fun times. And I know that we're still young but I want to promise you something." At this I knelt down on one knee, opening a small box. "I promise that I will love you forever and after that. You're the best thing to ever happen to me and I want to be with you forever. This is why I want to give you this ring, as a sign of my promise to you. Umm.. so that's the uh end of my speech. Say something please?" Before I knew it, I was lying on the ground, with my beautiful girlfriend on top of me. "Yes, I love you forever and always too" She happily shouted laughing. With that, I took her cool hand and slipped the promise ring on her ring finger laughing with her. And she put mine on me.
I had asked for the help of Leo to make them. They were white gold, hers with a small black onyx stone with thin metal strands surrounding it. Mine was a thicker band with swirls of black around it. I had enchanted them so that when touched in a certain spot, they seemingly melted into our skin and formed a black band around our fingers where the rings were. The purpose was so they wouldn't fall off in a fight and could be hidden if needed. The other enchantment was that if we were thinking about the other then we could feel they're heart beat.
After everything, I whisked away the set-up and walked her back to the Hades cabin before I went to get my stuff so I could spend the night. That night we fell asleep wrapped in each other's arms and for the first time in a long time, both of us had a dreamless night.
